chrisohps Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Hi; Do you have a elegant/simple solution on how to transfer old emails from a previous hosting provider to the default email server here at heliohost? Would love not loosing any emails and be able to transition seamlessly from one hosting to here... Any suggestions or documentation link to help with this would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to ask any relevant or pertinent questions that may help in pointing me in the right direction. With regards; Thanks Quote

freelio Posted Wednesday at 07:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:55 PM The way I've done this in the past is to install Thunderbird on a computer, then sign into both email accounts with IMAP. Then you can copy messages from one account to the other, but it can take a long time. One possible advantage is that you can do just one folder, then check your memory and CPU usage to make sure you don't go over limit for the month before transferring another folder. 1 Quote
wolstech Posted Wednesday at 08:07 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:07 PM IMAP is the only way to really do this. We don't have any dedicated mail moving tools here, and many people find our mail service to be rather limited anyway (primarily because of the 50/day limit on sending/forwarding messages). It's rather common for people to use external email service with our hosting. Quote
