Node 23 Support

We have added support for Node 23.1.0 to Johnny, Tommy, and Morty.

Keep in mind that Node.js uses massive amounts of memory so if you decide to test it out make sure you keep an eye on your load graph at https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/ All users on Johnny and Tommy are limited to 100 GB memory per day, and if you go over the limit your account will be suspended. On Morty if you go over 100 GB you will have to pay more for your excess load.

As always with Node.js websites we strongly recommend following our guides located on our wiki https://wiki.helionet.org/tutorials/node.js because they use Passenger. If you follow Node.js guides from other sites they will likely use more memory over all.

@Krydos does it mean Ghost CMS can now  work perfectly on the three servers listed?

If I remember right, Ghost was the CMS we ran into that was intentionally designed to not work with passenger for some dumb reason.

It might be possible to run that on the Morty plan once that releases, because there is no load suspensions, but I would expect and expensive bill each month due to memory usage. A mercury VPS would likely be cheaper.

Also, don’t know why you’re talking about January, this news topic was posted on October 31…

The Ghost CMS developers intentionally try to block people from using Passenger to run it. Some people report Ghost CMS can use 50 MB to 250 MB all day continuously without Passenger depending on how big your site is. As long as your Ghost process doesn't use more than 71-72 MB of memory at once you could get it to work on Johnny or Tommy, but if it's using 250 MB continuously your Morty bill would be probably be around $4 to $5 per month, and you'd get suspended pretty quick on Johnny or Tommy. I agree with Wolstech that it may be better to get a $4 VPS in that case. The advantage to Morty is you would still have access to Plesk, but Plesk on a Mercury VPS would be $19.50 per month.
