HelioHost Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Username: smi93ctb1, Server: Tommy, Main domain: z.helioho.st Hi, Do I need to use my old credentials from the old vps? You can power on the old vps, let me check the backup and then what will I be using the old or the new? Krydos Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Since your new VPS and your old VPS use the same IP address they can't be powered on at the same time. Your new VPS has been powered off and your old VPS has been powered on. Please note that when you login to SSH you may get some scary errors about it being a different server than expected. That is normal because it is a different server than you last connected to on that IP. Go ahead and log in and check everything out. If the VPS is working fine you can keep it powered on and we can delete the new VPS. If there's some errors or if you want to upgrade to more modern software make a backup of everything you need, and then we can power off the old VPS, power on the new VPS, and you can restore your files to the new one. Let us know how you would like to proceed.
HelioHost Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 Thank you for your patience. As you have pointed out the old server is using ubuntu 20, so I'll use the new one to save your time. I've already downloaded the backup you can remove the old server. Krydos Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Thanks for letting us know. Your new VPS has been powered on, and your old VPS has been deleted. Keep in mind you'll get warnings about the SSH key changing again.
HelioHost Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 That's great, thank you very much. On Sat, Aug 10, 2024, 05:45 HelioHost Support wrote: > Thanks for letting us know.
