Thanks,

Well, Krydos, or, whomever, why is the signup timed out at 1900 EST?

https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/full.html?sort=2 leads me to
believe that the server is hosted "over there". I'm not all broken up about
it but I have some questions for you. I want to trick chrome into thinking
I am searching from the https://biot.gov.io hotel on Diego Garcia or from a
terminal connected to a space based internet connection at KINGMAN REEF.
What settings are good?

Thanks for hosting.

Hi starbird200,

I am not Krydos, but I will do my best to understand and address your questions.

  1. By design, all HelioHost signups are open at midnight UTC, when the servers' sign-up limit is reset and thus people can sign up for an account on them. This is done so HelioHost servers do not crash from all the people wanting to use HelioHost services. If you want to know why it was chosen midnight UTC specifically, there is no documented reason for that as far as I could check, but I would argue it is fair to everyone who wants to get an account, since no time zone has an advantage. You can think of it as an arbitrary reset time, as it was necessary to have one. Also, you can rest assured that the reset time for new sign-ups has no correlation with where HelioHost servers physically are.
  2. As for your question about spoofing your location, it is out of HelioHost's support scope thus I am afraid I will be unable to address that question. You can, however, start to study cybersecurity. I would recommend the entry-level (ISC)² Cybersecurity certification, especially because they opened enrollment for one million free seats on their online self-paced course + certification (check here for more details). Good luck!
