HelioHost Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Username: neptunus, Server: Johnny, Main domain: neptunus.heliohost.org Dear owner(s), administrators, etc. No matter who or what, but it'simportant to know, why this server is mostly not available, ie can get onlynotice - the server don't give any notice and may be is moved...etc.Connection time out.It happens so mostly every day and lasts for very-very long time. Sometimesnot possible get connection at all, sometimes can, but after refresh itbegins again. Waiting already about a week, but maybe even more, nothingchanges. If it is so, not possible to use that server at all. Even the homepage issometimes not available, but usually takes also long time to open it.Firstly I thought that it lasts for some time, maybe maintenance works ..but it seems to be a regular and it seems not end never. What You say, is it true? -- *Kalju kaljukass@gmail.com *
wolstech Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 This is normal since you picked Johnny. Johnny is intended as a playground for people who don't care about performance or uptime to experiment with our services, and is not meant for running a production-grade website. You should move to Tommy or Ricky if you need reliable hosting. These servers have very limited signups, and as such performmmuch faster and have far fewer issues and significantly less downtime than Johnny. Registration opens at midnight UTC every day and fills quickly. Donating will also get you a tommy account. This monitor shows the historical uptime for each of our servers. http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/ As you can see, Johnny is regularly the poor performer.
HelioHost Posted July 1, 2018 Author Posted July 1, 2018 Hello again. Now I did as You recommended, so I deleted old account and registered newone. This time it is astro.heliohost.org / hosted in TommyEverything went well, but after some time I cannot connct again. Everythingis again absolutely similar to previous.I waited, but nothing changed. Then I thought, that something is with thesettings or IP filters. Tried over different VPS and proxy servers, andwhat I can saw. Everything works as should. Then I tried connect ower USA,Hong Kong, Romania, Germany, UK, all works. So my question is - do You have some kind of geolocation filtering orblocking?I read in forum, many people has the similar problem, but I didn't foundanswer t my question. Also I think that I haven't did nothing against therules, because I haven't did still nothing at all. Only one index page, couple thumbnail images, icon and that's all.For the end. Is there some restrictions for some geo-locations or it issimply some sort of a temporary incident? PS! Sorry for sending an email, I did not know where to post it.Thank You all! 2018-06-30 6:45 GMT+03:00 Heliohost Support : > This is normal since you picked Johnny. wolstech Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 You got being blocked by our firewall for excessive invalid login attempts via SFTP. I've unblocked you. Try using plain unencrypted ftp on port 21 instead. Also, no we do not geoblock our service, however we do prohibit the use of email for users in some countries. Based on the information I have, you are not in one of the countries affected by this limitation.
