wolstech Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 This issue was related to your old broken Johnny account not having been flushed out. You should be able to sign up again now that the server is fixed and it will work correctly.
HelioHost Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 Its working now thanks... another issue im having is at my domain host(squa=respace), i chose custom nameservers and entered ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.=heliohost.org but still a few days later my domain just times out, cant dis=play page. When heliohost nameservers recieve a request from squarespace fo=r my domain name how does it know to show my site on the heliohost server? =I know i can just use theyre nameservers and do a redirect but they have no= option for masking the domain. i just want my domain thekushhouse.com to s=how my thekushhouse.heliohost.org site... it used to before johnny went dow=n.. =E2=80=8BSent with ProtonMail Secure Email.=E2=80=8B =E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90 Original Me=ssage =E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90 On June 6, 2018 5:00 PM, Heliohost Support wrote: > This issue was related to your old broken Johnny account not having been =flushed out.> > =C2=A0> > You should be able to sign up again now that the server is fixed and it w=ill work correctly.> > You may view the status of your ticket by visiting:> > https://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=3D32978> > Thank you,> > Heliohost support> > https://www.heliohost.org/> > https://www.helionet.org/
wolstech Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 It's because the domain was still resolving to the old Johnny IP we don't use anymore. I removed the stale DNS entries and re-parked it to your new account for you. Give it a few minutes and it should become queued, and it should start working completely within 2 hours.
HelioHost Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 Ok that makes sense and i see its queued now. So the domain name sees the n=s1 and ns2.heliohost.org nameservers and knows to go out and look for the i=p...i understand that but how does it know to resolve the ip to my website =on my account... that puzzles me. did we or I enter the domain name somewhe=re and point it to my heliohost domain name? =E2=80=8BSent with ProtonMail Secure Email.=E2=80=8B =E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90 Original Me=ssage =E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90=E2=80=90 On June 7, 2018 7:12 PM, Heliohost Support wrote: > It's because the domain was still resolving to the old Johnny IP we don't= use anymore. wolstech Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Every site on the server actually uses the same IP address. It's the domain's association with your account that determines the content shown. I assigned that domain to your account as part of the fix, which is why the server knows what content to serve. Normally you would do this part yourself by adding the domain as an Alias or an addon domain.
wolstech Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Your domain is now working. Please clear your cache if you still see a queued page.
HelioHost Posted November 5, 2018 Author Posted November 5, 2018 Hi, my original domain name i signed up with is thekushhouse.com and im try=ing to add another one called recreationalunderground.com. I added the heli=ohost nameservers in the custom nameserver field at the silentregister webs=ite and then in my heliohost cpanel i created an addon domain that seems to= put it as a subdirectory under thekushhouse.com public_html folder... is a=ll this sounding correct? Will they behave independently of each other? wolstech Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Correct. The subfolder it creates will act as the root for that new domain. You should put the content for the new domain in the subdirectory. If your plan was to have both domains show the same content, use an Alias instead of an Addon domain.
