Bailey Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 (edited) Hello everyone, The new wiki is currently being configured over at http://wiki.bailey.cf therefore, please refrain from updating the wiki at wiki.helionet.org as it may not be transferred! Also, don't bother creating an account on the new wiki yet as it won't work I'm halfway through configuring it and it is taking longer than planned, it should be all finished by Halloween 👻... A message to Krydos, I can't get the SQL server to transfer due to errors all over the place, I don't know whether that is my fault or simply because of my privileges on the cPanel. Could you please look into it! I will provide the lines and files of which will need to be edited within the wiki configuration, if you are willing to do this of course. After the SQL is setup I will (providing no errors) be able to do the rest on my own apart from acquiring the images and licenses etc. But I can make do without them and most likely find a stable solution! Edit: Can you please edit the information so it is correct in the file "/home/bailey/public_html/wiki/LocalSettings.php" between the lines 52-64 (Database Settings for SQL) Thanks,Bailey Edited October 16, 2017 by Bailey
Krydos Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 You're supposed to be doing this, not me. The first thing that catches my eye is your wiki has the prefix 'wiki_' and the database dump I gave you has the prefix 'mw_'.
Bailey Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Oh okay, fair enough. I haven't been able to view the file you see because it's too big to upload but I'll have a look at some workarounds later!
wolstech Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I'm assuming you're having trouble viewing the database...you can unpack it and view in a text editor like notepad++ on your PC if you want. Database dumps are usually just (really large) text files.
Krydos Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Want me to compress it for you? Right now it's 275 MB uncompressed, but compression would shrink that considerably since text files are mostly just empty space.
Bailey Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Thanks @wolstech that helped! But @Krydos could you please do that because it says its too large to upload to MySQL
Krydos Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I can just import the data into your database. Where do you want it? bailey_mwdb, bailey_wikidata, bailey_wikidb, or something else?
miwilc Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 @Bailey upload the compressed updated dB to your home and then @Krydos can import it. If all this fails, Krydos give a copy of the compressed dB and files (of the current wiki, I need this as well.) on my account and I'll download and configure/edit on my localhost (I run Linux, so it's fine...)
Bailey Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Its all already there for Krydos, he can access my whole account so I dont need to move the file anywhere And why do you need a copy of the wiki? And @krydos, bailey_wikidb would be perfect thank you :)
miwilc Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 And why do you need a copy of the wiki? That's _if_ your migration fails. I feel your limited by running the wiki on heliohost, you must run it on localhost to make it easier to work on. (Preferably edit /etc/hosts to point 127.0.0.1 to wiki.helionet.org)
Bailey Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 No I have to work on HelioNet as it makes configuration easier and it wont take 3 hours to upload all the time, it 13,400 files that will need to be transferred quite a bit, its just easier to edit them in cPanel. Ill download it when I create a custom theme but thats it, Im getting it all setup first.
miwilc Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 @Bailey 13,400 conf Files? Wtf? Can't you just replace the files you edited instead of transfering the full thing? Also: I still think it's easier to work from localhost. Also Also: compress files and then upload it, you can decompress on the server.
Bailey Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 @Krydos, may I please have more storage on my account because the wiki takes up a lot of space and I only have 6.28MB of SQL storage when the wiki database file is 274MB. Thanks,Bailey
Krydos Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 And @krydos, bailey_wikidb would be perfect thank you :)Done.
