bdistler Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 at "Terms of Service" (TOS) --> [ http://wiki.helionet.org/Terms ] the link at [ In addition, users must read and follow the Support FAQ ] to [ http://cl58.tk/services/heliohost/v2/faq.html ] is broken looks like freenom took you "tk" domain back (as they do for most of them) ### AND on Wiki page [ http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/1544-the-official-etiquette-guide/ ] the link to the [ smile.gif ] at [ http://www.helionet.org/index/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ] is broken ### if you have working links - I can update the Wiki pages
wolstech Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 I don't know about the support FAQ...cl58 hasn't been around for a long time though (he's another support admin, last post looks to be 4 years ago). The etiquette guide smile is just the regular forum smily, so I'd just grab the path to that from the post editor (I'd link but I'm on mobile).
wolstech Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 I fixed the ettiquette guide. Krydos is the only one who can fix the TOS I think. I won't let me edit it to put a strikethrough and note that the link is broken (I can't find a copy of the content anywhere...) The whole wiki needs an overhaul anyway... Some other things I've noticed and can't fix because it won't let me edit the pages...Everything under the HelioPanel section is obsolete (that project died a long while back, it basically did what the "Heliohost tools" do now). There's no link to the Django page despite there being a very thorough tutorial there. People always ask about here though. There also doesn't seem to be a way for me to add it to the main page. The admin/mod info on the "What is HelioHost" page is outdated.
Krydos Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 What does it say when you try to edit those pages? Is there an error message? I see your SSL/SNI changes.
wolstech Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I don't even see the Edit tab. I see "View Source" instead when I look at those pages. If I click that it says:You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reasons:The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: confirmed. This page has been protected to prevent editing.
wolstech Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Nope. Still says I don't have permission. The two pages I can't edit are the two on this list: http://wiki.helionet...:ProtectedPages (and it won't allow me to unprotect them). It looks like you might need to either remove the protection or give me the ability to edit protected pages...
Krydos Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Weird that it requires admin permissions to edit. I wonder if Xaav had it locked down purposefully so random users can't edit the terms of service. That would make sense I guess.
wolstech Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 That's what I figured on the Terms. Otherwise random person would come along and add a clause allowing phishing or something. The main page is probably just to prevent defacing... Either way, it works now. Thanks again @bdistler: The support FAQ link has been removed from the Terms. If anyone manages to find that content, let me know and I'll stick it on Area52 and put the link back
Krydos Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Try downloading the backup for the Stevie account cl58. It should have the data there. I would actually prefer to have it recreated on the wiki though rather than a hosted account in case the hosted account goes inactive, or the server crashes or something.
wolstech Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I actually checked in that backup already. The whole directory tree where that content should be is there but empty (except for a license for a font). No luck there (guessing the files failed to back up). Wayback Machine and the like don't have it either (robots.txt told them to not archive it). The only thing I've found that's a "Support FAQ" was this old forum post: http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/5055-support-faq-read-this-first-updated-050111/ (most of this is already on the Wiki now).
Krydos Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Wasn't the cl58 thing just a prettier version of http://wiki.helionet.org/Heliohost_FAQ ?
