Someone checked our online catalog today and saw this message:

Your account is located on the Stevie server. This server is offline, and we don't expect to get it running again anytime soon. We are working on getting access to Stevie's system so we can get users their files as soon as possible, but if the hard drives have failed you will have to use your most recent backup. We recommend creating a new account on Johnny or Tommy in the meantime. If you want to reuse your Stevie username, or any domains you had on your Stevie account please open a support ticket at Helionet.org. List the domains you want to use on your new account and an admin can free them up for you. We are sending an admin to our datacenter to work on the server as soon as possible. You can follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook for the latest news. If you need help with anything don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for your patience during this unexpected downtime.

Where exactly would I find a most recent backup? How do you create a new account? How do I find out when my Heliohost contract expires? I can't log into my account at all - I keep getting invalid log in.

The person who set this up on Heliohost no longer works here. We have no person on staff with any technical training in this area. If we need a new account, then someone is going to have to walk us thru this procedure on the telephone.

610-262-7351 open Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST

Please respond.

Where exactly would I find a most recent backup?

Stevie's backups (if any) are at --> [ https://heliohost.org/backup/ ]

however they only contain a backup (if any) of your [ /public_html ] folder

the backup was created by a (automatic) script - but Stevie's hard drives are very damaged so all of your information (files and databases) might not be in it

if you had a folder(s) outside of [ public_html ] (e.g addon domain) - post it here and the Admins will look for the next time they work on server Stevie

How do you create a new account?

For server Johnny - just sign up - a limited number of free registrations open every night at midnight UTC and are used quickly

check if they are open - and server Johnny is up - at --> [ http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/ ]

For server Tommy - a authorizing to open a account on server Tommy will be Emailed to your Paypal or Skill email address after you make a donation

for more information - see --> [ https://heliohost.org/donate/ ]

###

How do I find out when my Heliohost contract expires?

you do not have a "contract" with Heliohost

other than a small one time donation to open a account on server Tommy the service is free

I can't log into my account at all - I keep getting invalid log in.

as it says in your post - server Stevie is down (off line) - so you can not get to your account on that server

server Stevie isn't coming back up in the near future (and when it does your account will be gone from it)

bdistler just answered most of your questions. Just something to add:

The backup retrieval at http://www.heliohost.org/backup/ requires you to enter the email address originally used to sign up. A link will then be emailed to that address to download it. If you have trouble, don't receive the link, or the link you receive doesn't work, please post back so we can look into the issue and add you to the manual recovery list if necessary.

As bdistler said, you don't have any contract with us, our services are free and your account is good as long it's on a server that works and you log in once every 30 days to prevent it from becoming inactive (accounts on servers that don't work won't go inactive). You're welcome to find another host at any time if you wish to do so, and your backup from here can be used to set up your site elsewhere. The only money we ever ask for is donations, and they're not required to have an account here (with the exception of the Tommy server, which currently does require a donation of $1 or more to receive the required invitation).

Once you get your backup, we can walk you through setting up a new account and getting you back online. :)
