[Answered] Problem With The Disk Space Usage

Hi,

I've got a problem with the disk space usage in my hosting account. When i back up my whole home directory it was only 228 MB of size, but on the cPanel meter it is 322 MB. I don't know where the rest of the MB is going. Please help me to solve this. By the way the server is running smooth without any issues i am very great-full for that. Thank you.

If you got the backup as .zip file, did you unzip the contents and check the full size then?

I believe backups are compressed in size, that's what might confuse you.

 

If this doesn't work out, then I guess you'd have to wait for heliohost support to reply.

The backups are indeed compressed. The space meter also includes things that aren't files, like MySQL databases.

 

It is normal for the contents of your home folder to be smaller than what's shown on the meter.
