Mystical Water Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Well yes the amount of space is increasing by bytes i guess. Still Gmail provides more space for the storage of emails.
Dragonfire Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Bytes isn't less. Its increasing by a few bytes per second. Imagine by how much it will be increased to in a month.
Mystical Water Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Somewhere around mb's i guess, don't want to get into maths right now. I think it will be increased some thing around by 10mb!
Dragonfire Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Well actually I checked out and it was around 4-5 bytes per second. That would be around 9.88 mbs in a month. Come to think of it, it isn't even half a gb a year. Waaah!!!
Mystical Water Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Hm, but still it is increasing rather than yahoo who is still stuck over 1 gb since alot of time. Even windows live mail upgraded its storage to 2gb well but still it doesnt increases its storage space almost every second, they upgrade after a long long time.
Dragonfire Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 But it isn't actually that helpful if it increases every second. You only get a few extra bytes. And when gmail's space is gonna be increased to 3 or 4gb windows live mail would probably also to beat the competition.
Mystical Water Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Well exactly for sure and then i guess yahoo would upgrade to 2gb. Do you know? No more invites are needed to make a Gmail account.
Dragonfire Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Probably yahoo will increase to 2 gb. There's a competition going on between them and we're benefiting from it. Probably in a few years its gonna be 10 gb. I hope it does.
Mystical Water Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 That will after a very long time. Now a days hotmail and gmail are having the competition where as yahoo is far behind.
resin Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 there is one that offers 30 gigs....it's at 30gigs dot com
Dragonfire Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 It must be only providing space and must not have any other good features otherwise that would be a bit popular right now.
Maxdamantus Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 GMail > Other E-Mail services. Btw, in case anyone wants to know, usually when you get invited by someone, you are allowed to give out 8 invites.. You can invite your own GMail address, and sign up again, and you get 20 invites to give out on that account. Xd
Dragonfire Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 But there's no use of getting invites because now you can just tell them to join. I heard about this messenger through which you can talk using a gmail, hotmail, yahoo or aol account. Still don't know the name. Anyone heard of it?
Kyougi Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 You guys realize that the space is all a ruse, right? While they offer that much space, they don't nearly have enough HDD space to accommodate it. That's why they make attachment restrictions. They'll offer that much space, however, the standard person will never come near it.
Dragonfire Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 If google does not have enough space then what will happen if many gmail users start filling up their email inboxes? That sounds like trouble for google.
