Sandip Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Hello, Thank you for your free hosting. Does your free hosting support Http port = 80 and https port = 443? Can you open in sever https port = 443 for my account?Do you take any extra price for https port = 443?Do I need a dedicated IP address for https port = 443 support? If I need dedicated IP, do you take price for it? Actually I want to host a e-commerce website. I have talk to Bank for payment gateway. They will create the payment gateway and also they will give SSL certificate only in payment page. But they ask me that the web hosting server should support https port = 443 to interact with Bank server. So, I want to ask you all these above question. My user id is - sandi565 Regards,Sandip
Shinryuu Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 To use HTTPS and your SSL Cert you need to first get a dedicated IP. The company we use requires a price of $12 US/yr for one. Use Paypal to send it to admin@heliohost.org and when the payment is confirmed you'll have a dedicated IP to use with your secure transactions. 1
Sandip Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 If I buy dedicated IP from you, does https port = 443 will open? After some months, if I want to host my website in other server, can I transfer this dedicated IP? I am new to dedicated IP, so I am asking.
Shinryuu Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 If I buy dedicated IP from you, does https port = 443 will open? Yes After some months, if I want to host my website in other server, can I transfer this dedicated IP? I believe not as HE would be buying the rights to use that IP on your behalf. Companies purchase batches of IPs and they're allowed to use these on the machines they administer so that's why I think not, though I may be wrong. 1
Sandip Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Thank you Shinryuu for your help and knowledge. Hello administrator from helionet / Djbob, Will you please answer the above two questions? I want to be sure and confirm from root administrator as I am paying for the service.
Krydos Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 No, you don't get to take your dedicated IP with you if you move to a different hosting service.
Sandip Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 Hello Krydos, After having dedicated IP will I need to do some types of setup or change in control panel to open the https port = 443? Or it will automatically opened? I am from Kolkata, India. I have no experience on overseas purchase. I don't use credit card. Can I give you payment by Maestro Debit Card. Is paypal accept Indian debit card and transfer Indian currency to USA currency? Or can I send you through Western Union Money Transfer?
Shinryuu Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 On PayPal and debit cards. Seems it's mostly hit or miss. On currency exchange. PayPal walks you through it, and it costs a little extra. 1

Shinryuu Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 After you buy a dedicated IP you can install your certificate if you already have one or generate a certificate signing request in cPanel to use when buying one, then upload the cert that you buy. Once the certificate is on the server in your cPanel you'll be able to access your site using https://
Sandip Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 Are you speaking about the certificate which is in Cpanel, under Security - SSL/TLS Manager? And is this free from Heliohost?
Shinryuu Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 It would be installed there yes, and we do not provide it, you'd have to buy one from digicert or one of the other Certificate Authorities out there, however I have talk to Bank for payment gateway. They will create the payment gateway and also they will give SSL certificate only in payment page. I'm guessing you've worked out some tentative agreement with the bank on that matter? In which case once you have your dedicated IP you'd have to ask them to give you the SSL cert to upload into cPanel and then you'd be set to go. If they do give you the cert and limit it to your payment area you'll be getting errors if you try to do https://mysite.com
Sandip Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Many thanks to all for your great free services, time and suggestions.
