Hello,

I have been trying to view, edit , and backup the site I have on the Johnny server and it has been down for a few days, as far as I know, any idea on when it might be back up again?

I am also looking to change servers because Johnny seems, as I have read, very unstable because of what is installed on the machine.

I will follow the instructions for change of server posted elsewhere.

Thanks

EDIT: Just read a post from the Administrator that Johnny is being worked on. Thank you for the update.

I just need to pull the files off my account. Johnny is down again do to heavy load.

I really need to finish working on these files and have not been able to for some time.

Can an administrator please zip up the files from my account and sent them to the accounts email address?

I understand the whole free thing just didn't expect this much down time.

Sorry, thanks.

EDIT: "Downtime was less than 10 minutes and as usual it was due to high load. It's working fine now. http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/" - Administrator from original post.

Maybe I am reading the 24 hour log wrong that shows Johnny down/heavy load time since 4:40-4:45 AM? That is a long 10 minutes.

Johnny is STILL down, and according to the server monitor that an administrator pointed me to, it has been down for hours. Not 10 minutes.

Please don't offer services you cannot back up with actual up time.

I am deleting my account and will tell anyone I hear of that is planning on using your service to go else where. You obviously cannot get it right. Oh, and feel free to delete this comment like you did my last, that was politely asking to have my files, not so polite this time.

You should be shut down.

That quote was from this post http://www.helionet....dpost__p__83359 on September 24th. Quite a lot has changed since that small 10 minutes downtime almost two weeks ago.

Stevie currently has 99.82% uptime. If you need uptime we recommend you create your account on that server. Furthermore, we don't guarantee any level of uptime. In fact the terms of service http://wiki.helionet.org/Terms, which all creators of accounts must agree to prior to the account being created, plainly state:

We will not be held responsible for loss of content, revenue, or traffic in the event of a systems failure.

You're free to do what you want. I've looked through the AdminCP and the Moderator sections looking for any deleted posts by you and cannot find any. As a policy we only delete spam posts for like viagra or other weird bot stuff like that. We edit posts to remove profanity, but apart from that we don't censor anything that anyone wants to say about us.

You should be shut down.

I have no idea where all this anger is coming from. Yes, I think it's incredibly frustrating that Johnny has crashed too, but ranting and raving on the forums does not encourage the administration to spend more time volunteering their efforts to keep Heliohost functional. In fact instead of working on Johnny I have spent a few minutes responding to you instead. What is a better use of my time do you think?

In my opinion this behaviour is like if we were instead giving away free ice cream on a hot summer day. Then your cone breaks and you don't get to eat your ice cream so you start screaming that no one else should try the free ice cream either. I don't know, maybe it's not a very good analogy, but you could read this if you want to http://s3.zetaboards...p=7200&t=304216

EDIT:

All issues resolved through PMs.

1. I read, probably one of the only ones, in it's entirety and agreed to the terms of service when signing up. So, please, don't assume that I don't know that you "will not be held responsible for loss of content, revenue, or traffic in the event of a systems failure."

2. Your response was posted at 1:04AM it is now 7:22 AM my time. Johnny is still down.

3. If you are the only one working on Johnny, and it sounds like you are, kindly stop responding to my "raving" and get to it. There are quite a few users that are going to stay with your service that need that server up. As of this post I am no longer a user of your services.

4. Your response made me hungry for ice cream.

Yeah, you should try that. It'll cool you down a bit :)

Just don't go for any of that Free ice cream...
