Fatal error: Call to a member function add() on a non-object in /home1/windmill/public_html/libraries/joomla/cache/storage/memcache.php on line 396

I get an error message like this every time I try to change something in the back-end of my Joomla site. This occurred after transferring the site to heliohost. I guess there is some setting that I need to change

any help is welcome

Thanks

This sounds like a question for the Joomla forums and you should ask them for more specific help. Off the though of my head though, make sure you set the proper file permissions for all your transferred files.

I found on akeeba back-up forum that most likely the Apache's mod_rewrite needs to be enabled. I assume that this is something that is a serverwide setting. CAn anyone tell me if it is enabled?

Thanks

Depending on how customized the joomla install is that you're trying to move it might be easier to use softaculous or at least do a fresh joomla install and then transfer all the data and templates over.
