For some reason it works now, here on my computer at least, once again i got an error after i tried a couple of times
so now i asked my friends to check if they an register, login and post topics, messages and so on.
maybe it only suffers minor hickups
Bill: Did you find something helpful?
I just installed PhpBB via Fatastico, install worked fine, it also looks pretty nice
only Problem is that people get an internal server problem during submission.
I will also search a bit on the PhpBB Forum, sadly my time is rather limited since i am working on my Master thesis right now.
So if you find anything please let us know as well
Thanks in advance
Byron you are right about "ftp.tcmtranslation.heliohost.org"
in my Rapidweaver settings it actually is written like this - it might show that I am not very skilled in this publishing a website stuff, yet )
will try to upload again and then delete the double
Thanks for your help
when it's done i will give a quick note on how it went
Byron I am sorry if i do not completely understand
All i did was using the FTP upload function within Rapidweaver
my setting was like this:
server : ftp://www.heliohost.org
username: houzi
password: ******
path: public_html
Should i leave the "Path" option empty maybe?
Today my website was finally online )
But when i go there (http://tcmtranslation.heliohost.org/) i see this:
Index of /
* Forum/
* cgi-bin/
* houzi/
* images/
* postinfo.html
* public_html/
Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_wsgi/3.0c3 Python/2.4.3 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at tcmtranslation.heliohost.org Port 80
i then have to click public_html to actually enter my site
when i upload using dreamweaver i choose public_html - is that the reason?
where else should i direct the path to?
thanks in advance
I am sorry ( second time today already... )
I just was "trained" by other forums to keep the amount of topics small, so rather then opening a new one i look for topics that are related to my own questions.
just to clarify one thing these "Helions" are some kind of coupon which you then can exchange for something else like an own domain name or sth like that, right?
I think Domain names are not that expensive ( I might be wrong but i think it is just something like 5-10 bucks)
doesn't the concept of Helions increase spam?
I mean what good is it to have a forum full of spam? I don''t think Helionet earns from how many post they have, or do they?
But then i have to admit i didn't look in the whole Helion thing until now
48 hours..... in 24 hours alone can happen so much ( kudos to Mrs. Sutherland ) but 48? I hope I can make it.....
so eager to see how it works.
but I actually found many mistakes in the site which had to be fixed.... so maybe it is not a bad thing
I am very sorry to bother again with it.
but I am still unsure as to what content has to go into the "Path" section within the publishing settings of Rapidweaver
Hi and good morning
Thank you for the replies, and I am sorry for the double post I just thought that would increase the chance of a reply ( I had pretty bad experiences with an unnamed Linux Forum before... )
I didn't know I had to wait 48 hours.... so maybe that is the reason for it. I will practice patience ( even if it is hard - I am excited like a kid before christmas )
but to avoid a misunderstanding on my part for the server do i have to use yoursite.heliohost.org or ftp://www.heliohost.org
also that "Path" option is a tad confusing for me since i could not really find information about it.
Thank you all again
Quick question
i just signed up and trying to upload my newly created website using Rapidweaver FTP upload
but it keeps telling me it can't connect
i used this:
server : ftp://www.heliohost.org
username: houzi (actually i never got a conformation from heliohost about that name )
password: ******
path: public_html
does anyone know what i am doing wrong?
thanks in advance
