  1. I am sorry, but I did not undertsand, how do I and where do I but that "@" symbol? And what do you mean with try including it with simply "cont/file.php", I am very happy for the help you give me Unveiled

The @ symbol won't fix your problem, just will hide the error messages but it won't work still. Forget about it for now..

See how you linked it with include(../cont/cont.php) ? Well try this instead: include(cont/cont.php).

The reason for this is that it is your homepage and is not in any directory/folder. That means the "cont" folder is within the same directory and can be accessed at: http://watchphone.heliohost.org/cont/ .

  2. Since this is the index page, you don't need the "../" in the beginning, Try including it with simply "cont/file.php"

Also to remove error messages so your viewers don't see them, you can put an @ symbol in front of the function (ex: <?php @include) to remove these error messages.

  3. i have a .com domain, ut how are they supposed to validate that?

    Thank you!

Well first of all, are there any files you want to move? Like a previous website you want to move? You can ask for a backup from them of your site, or if it's already supported, get one yourself and download all the files in a zip file.

Now with your domain, you have to tell them to change the name servers/DNS.

HelioHost's name servers are as follows:

    ns1.heliohost.org , and ns2.heliohost.org .

Once that is done, you login and go to your control panel. You click Add-On Domain and add your domain as: "example.com".

Then it should all work, most of all be patient the name server changes may take a while.

  4. Not sure if I ever introduced myself here...

Anyways I'm known by Unveiled and came here to host my site on a better host (bleep you freehostia!!).

The forums are really great by the way, nice addition.

  5. I don't see anything wrong with Wikipedia, such as nothing is wrong with Firefox or any other open source project. There are very strict rules, and if you edit something it will most likely get changed within an hour so no one receives any false information. There are tons of admins that work to keep it right.

As for school projects and such, it is best to be aware of the info it gives you, and it's not good to site it as it's a wiki. I would have to say that it's a great starting point to get you on the right track.

  6. You should have received an email about your hosting with HelioHost..

But if you can login, then everything should be fine. You should still make sure your email works though, try making a backup for example. Also, make an index page to make sure everything works before transferring a domain.

  7. Well, depending on how much space you already used up, there should be enough space for your forums.

You seem like you have been creating boards/forums for a while now and see why you want to upgrade to host it all yourself with PHP. GetForum.com is pretty good though, it has no Ads and I'm pretty sure they remove the copyright link now that shows you have a free forum.

  8. Hello

Could we have support for OpenID in the forum's login ? I don't know if there are any plugins for OpenID in IP.Board, but if there are, could you install and enable it? Also it would be great to use OpenID for the HelioHost's signup.

OpenID (http://openid.net) allows to use this forum more easily. With OpenID people is able log-in with their OpenID, removing the need to create yet another username and password.

This looks like a good idea although I never used it before.

  9. Everyone's in Stevie now.

While the old server has went offline at 14th Oct if you could see it at below there

    http://www.heliohost.org/home/

Well... wait in patience.. this should be just temporary

Oh okay, I saw that but thought it was the two week period that HelioHost was offline (pardon me, I'm new  )

This has really been bugging everyone I bet, especially me since I just signed up expecting a lot from this host. The reason I switched was my old host, FreeHostia, was that it had tons of downtime and was really slowing down my site. I received tons of complaints.

Well thanks for the info and the piece of mind, hope it all sorts out soon.

  10. I tried to log in to the cpanel via the helionet home page. And, I tried the link... I still can't get it because of a space problem during my registration/sign up process. Who can fix this?

Wow, that's a very unlucky situation you got into. I am guessing the admin didn't pay his electric bill? Well simply the space is running out and the owner needs to split up or get more space or something.

Once the admin (djbob) gets on, he should see your problem and know how to fix it but for now no one can really help you.

  11. Lately i'm having a lot of troubles with downtime on my website.

Ftp still works but my site isn't accessible and even heliohost.org isn't...

    Uptime stats:http://www.siteuptime.com/statistics.php?Id=74031&&UserId=92430

    Only about 80%...

    What is the problem???

It's probably the latest server, Stevie, which is causing the problem. Like anything else, new stuff has its flaws which need to be fixed. Djbob has said in other posts that he is working to fix the uptime, it's mostly 'cause of the new server.

The uptime is getting better though, so everything should be fine soon...or at least I hope it does. Come on Djbob!!

  12. When I created my account I set it to a co.cc domain that I was going to register afterwards, but when I went to register the domain was taken. I have found another name that was not taken though, is there a way to change my Main Domain to this new address without making a new account?

Not that I know of, I've looked all over.

Just make it an add-on domain and will work fine. You can even link it to the file domain root which you already have all your files in. Meaning, you don't necessarily have to make a new "new-domain.co.cc" folder for it, just change it to your past one which was taken.

Then you can change all your error pages to the correct domain/email, and stuff like that.

  13. I don't play much games anymore, although I have played a lot of the NFS series on my gamecube and comp.

This one looks pretty good, but not much difference like the others. I guess the plot isn't that great?

Oh and hold up, the movie like thing in between rounds and stuff is real this time? Not something I would want...

Also why not any shortcuts... I'm starting not to like it and see your points...

Anyways maybe this review should help: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/42885.html

  14. Well this really changes my mind about things. I just saw this video,

and it could completely be true. On the other hand, people always try complicating things and it could've just been the plane hitting the building causing it to collapse. There were probably explosives and lots of gas fuel in the plane which gave more power.

Imagine a plane hitting a skyscraper? You would think it would collapse would it not?

  15. What gets me really pissed is that there is never an option for more than one religion. The "other" options is great, like if you believe in Confucianism or something, but I'm someone who believes in more than one religion. So far, it's only Hinduism and Jewish religions. I do believe in many others too as I keep getting to learn more about them.

I don't think anyone is ever one religion, it's mostly all just beliefs and like the Democratic and Republican parties, both have its flaws and strong points.

  16. I have a Samsung P2 and it comes with EmoDio management software which is really great. This is the best mp3..let me restate, multimedia player ever. Still not convinced? Well it's touchscreen, has an FM radio, much cheaper than an iTouch, has video, music, custom themes which you can download or make, and much more. Oh, and did I mention how great the sound quality is? There a built in equalizer too.

Head on over to emodio.com to check out more about this player/software.
