  1. http://squash.west.herts.heliohost.org/ http://wacc.herts.heliohost.org/ http://watford-tennis-west.herts.heliohost.org/ Nor can I see the cpanel of them either. Any ideas what's gone wrong? Thanks, Nick
  2. Sorry yes the other one, the third database, is shali_watford and the user that can't connect is shali_watford1
  3. I have 3 databases ( 3 websites) and 3 users for them, all experience the same problem, as below. user: shali_wacc1 on db: shali_wacc user: shali_wh1 on db: shali_wh user: shali_wacc1 on db: shali_wacc
  4. This is now the second time I've got this error http://wacc.herts.heliohost.org/ Error The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later. Error message PDOException: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'shali_wacc1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in lock_may_be_available() (line 167 of/home/shali/public_html/wacc/includes/lock.inc). Last time I was told to change the database, so I did swapped in the one above, but now this is failing in the same way. Why is this going wrong? This is not sustainable, I haven't got time to keep on chasing this kind of error. cheers, Nick

So this must explain why I my websites can't connect to the databases shali_wacc, shali_wh and shali_watford. For example 'http://wacc.herts.heliohost.org' website gets this kind of error now and since August, Error The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later. Error message PDOException: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'shali_wacc'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in lock_may_be_available() (line 167 of/home/shali/public_html/wacc/includes/lock.inc).
  6. Hi, I was trying to make some space in my user home dir. There are quite a few files and dirs in there that I did not put there, so Helio must have created them by default when it created my account, 'shali'. Would it be OK to delete every that I did not put there? Or are there some files that Helio needs to allow web-hosting to work? thanks, Nick
  7. I think I actually want to have the account 'shali' reinstated as I just realised my 'josybrew' site is using a database associated with 'shali' account. I have retreived all the files from 'josybrew' so can you please suspend 'josybrew' and unsuspend 'shali'. cheers, Nick
  8. OK --- thanks. Let me have a think about it. In the meantime please don't delete the 'shali' or 'brunik' accounts just in case I decide to go with them instead of 'wacc' Nick
  9. Done 'shali'. Now please unsuspend 'josybrew'. Much appreciated your cooperation on this. I have a question. From the account 'shali' I have a site whose 'root' domain was 'herts.heliohost.org', so the site that people are using is 'http://watford-tennis-west.herts.heliohost.org'. Now when 'josybrew' is unsuspended my root domain will be 'wacc.heliohost.org'. Is there any way to provide the unfortunate watford tennis players with their old webiste on the 'josybrew' account? i.e. not having to change the URL which would be a step too far for these kind of people. thanks, Nick
  10. Hello, I think you are being unfair. I genuinely misunderstood the prohibition on multiple accounts (see previous reply). It is not as if I've gone and created hundreds of accounts. I have 4 and they don't cause you any problems. But if you don't budge can you please reinstate the 'josybrew' account so I can get 'wacc.heliohost.org' running again. I also want to retrieve all the files and database content from the accounts 'brunik' and 'shali'. I'm not bothered about the 'brew' account. Thanks, Nick
  11. I did see the sign 'Only one account is allowed per user but to me it wasn't clear that you weren't allowed to create multiple users. I thought it meant for each user you can only have one 'domain' e.g for my user 'brew' my root domain can only be 'brew.heliohost.org'. I understand I can create as many pre-fixes in front of 'brew'. Saying that I understand your policy now, I need to have a think which domain I should keep. They are all 'community based' sites, making no profit, doing no harm to heliohost, been going for many years, with many community based users. thanks, Nick
  12. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I did not know users cannot have multiple accounts. I figured as it was so difficult to create an account, and you needed a different email per account, that it was allowed. The main reason I did that was so that my domain names more accurately described what my sites were doing. It was not really about space issues, although in the long term 500MB may prove restrictive. What I don't understand is how you know that I have multiple user accounts. I can't see there would any way you could have been able to tell, until after I told you so on this email thread which was after all my accounts got suspended. I would really appreciate it if you made an exception for me because I created the 4 accounts in good faith. I don't recall ever seeing a notice stating you can only have one account. thanks, Nick
  13. Hi, All 4 user accounts have been suspended. I think they are all on Stevie. But here are the mappings between user and domains: brunik -> http://west-herts-squash.heliohost.org shali -> http://watford-tennis-west.herts.heliohost.org brew -> brew.heliohost.org josybrew -> wacc.heliohost.org/cpanel I really don't know what can have happened. Please tell me. I have been running most of these sites on helio for years without causing any problems. Thanks, Nick
  14. Hi, I've just realised the 'settings.php' file on my site may still be writable. I think I forgot to make it read-only. So I'll need at least my cpanel 'josybrew' user to be re-enabled so I can put that right. Please help. Thanks, Nick
  15. Can you please provide an update on this? It's now been 3 weeks suspended. I can't see how my site is doing anything wrong. It's just using Drupal core code and I have similar sites running for years on heliohost without any issues. I can't see how I can fix any problem if you don't allow me to login to my site and cpanel and see if I can spot anything. And I can't see how I can fix a problem if you don't give me specific details about the allegation. Thanks, Nick
  16. Is the report related to cpanel activity on username 'josybrew' ? Or activity related to the associated site 'wacc.heliohost.org' ? Just before the site got suspended the only thing I changed was to add an email account via cpanel. And on the site 'wacc.heliohost.org' to add content moderation so users can't post profane/spam/inpappropiate contenet. I use the 'Mollom' module from Drupal to do that. I did test it by posting content that contained swear words and sure enough my site blocked the content. Maybe the report went to Mollom and then...? thanks, Nick
  17. Hi, This is nearly a week now. Can someone raise the priority on this. I at least want to be told the reason for Suspension. But I can't see any reason why it was done. thanks, Nick
  18. Hi, I really need an answer on this. I've spent quite a lot of time getting this site up and running and now this. Please help. thanks, Nick
  19. Just to be clear my cpanel user name is 'josybrew' and my domain is 'wacc.heliohost.org'. The 'Watford Against Climate Change' site name is just a local Watford (UK) based grass-roots community entity. We just meet in a pub once a week to discuss our concerns about climate change. thanks, Nick
  20. Hi, My website is 'wacc.heliohost.org'. I can't see any reason why it would be suspended. Can you please re-instate me ASAP? thanks, Nick p.s I think my website was running on Stevie.
  21. Hi Wolstech, Thanks v.much. I have now managed to restore the website that gets used a lot after taking your advice above. I'll wait until mysql issues are solved to drop the redundant database. Or maybe I can delete all the table records from the redundant database if I start running into space issues? Cheers Nick
  22. Hi, Great, thanks for your advice, I'm getting somewhere. I created a fresh database and then tweaked Drupal install core file to use MyISAM instead of InnoDB. It has now installed OK on a website that no one uses. Now I'm going to alter the tables on a website that is also not used to use MyISAM. If that works I will tackle the 2 websites that are used. Hopefully just altering the tables will to the trick so I don't have to do fresh installs from my backed up data. Any advice on the altering tables. I'm just planning to use 'mysqlshow db' to dump the tables and then produce an .sql file that I can redirect into database using mysql. e.g mysql -u nick -p shali_crox < alter.tables.sql > err Thanks Nick
  23. The error I get is "SQLSTATE[HY000] General error: 2013 Lost connection to MYSQL server during query". I am not getting 'access denied'. For this particular install I created a new database 'shali_croxley' and created a new user 'shali_croxley' using the cpanel 'mysql databases' and cpanel phpmyadmin. So what do you recommend is the best plan of action? Use a differerent helio server? Not use InnoDB? Or just give up on heliohost and find a different web server hosting? Cheers Nick
  24. Hi, I'm not sure my problem is to do with my databases being corrupt after Stevie crashed. I created a new database using cpanel/phpmyadmin and when I tried to install my drupal website when I got to the database config section I was unable to access the new database. So there seems to be some connection problem to the databases on Stevie. Is there any way I can test this? Thanks, Nick
