  1. @wolstech I had reported that "Log onto incoming mail server first". It only works sporadically. Good to know that 465 doesn't work for others. I will give the 554 Security Failure a search and see what others (outside heliohost) might have said.
  2. I am using outlook 2007. even though this is a relic the smtp protocol is way older and shouldn't be an issue. @wolstech Thanks. Through your intervention now SMTP AUTH plain works on port 587 and mail is being sent this way. As you have pointed out this is not the ideal solution but at least for me mail is now being sent out. SSL is still not working. Port 465 is still refusing connection from my end on 2 different PCs at two different locations. Please anybody can sniff at their end if tommy is accepting connections to port 465.
  3. I had a problem my mail servers and thought this was solved but apparantly isn't. I have a static IP, but using the static IP or tommy.heliohost.org as mail server still give the same results. Anybody is using heliohost with pop/smtp settings? I can retreive mail on POP port 110 (unencrypted) Secure incoming mail port 995 is refusing connection outright even tried with putty and connection is terminated immediately on the smtp side port 25 and port 587 are open but are expecting an ssl connection to authenticate.   4. Ok solved it with Krydos help on discord. When setting up outlook (I still use 2007 and it works for what I do), on the "Outgoing Server" tab, choose "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail". HTH

  6. I have tried using tommy's SMTP server for my outgoing mail using Microsoft Outlook. I did follow the settings given but it still won't send mail. These are the settings that are suggested: Outgoing Server: mail.fcs.com.mt SMTP Port: 587 Nslookup resolves mail.fcs.com.mt to 64.62.151.106 which is my dedicated IP, so up to there it is all well. The error reported by Outlook 2007 is "None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your servers."   8. Thanks. Account created. I will setup the addon domains and revert as I 1st need to update the nameservers and that takes a bit of time due to TTL.
  9. Sorry for being a pain but since the domain was deleted and my access to ricky removed I cannot access the invite. I rerouted the DNS servers of my email to a 3rd party now. Can you please resend the invite
  10. I have everything backed up don't worry. I made a mess out of the transfer on ricky and don't want to repeat it on tommy again. Main domain should be fcsltd.heliohost.org And these I will addon after successful installation but I' mentioning them so that this DNS cluster is also cleared for these domains. fcs.com.mt resins.com.mt resin.com.mt Thanks.

Occasionally we need to rebuild our servers to keep them operating at peak performance. This process usually takes a week or so. In the meantime we recommend downloading your backup, and then creating a new account. You can follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook for the latest news. Once your server is operational again we will make a news post, and then you will be able to transfer your account back to the server you were on if you want to. If you need help with anything please don't hesitate to contact support." When I was transferred to Ricky, this meant that something had gone wrong. My domain was still in the dns cluster. Did it happen again? For your perusal my heliohost domain is fcsltd.heliohost.org I also have these addon domains: fcs.com.mt, resins.com.mt and resin.com.mt My username is fcsltd and I am transferring from ricky to tommy. Also for your perusal, I used to have a staitc IP 64.62.151.106 and a PTR record from this IP to fcs.com.mt Thanks

  14. Byron / Krydos, thanks for the work you've all been been doing. Krydos thanks for the backups. I will rebuild the rules off the top of my head. Lesson learnt. If I do a backup of the setup on ricky (with the global email rules in place) will they be inluded in the backup? Or do should I just screenshot the rules as backup? Ron
  15. it worked now. Thanks a lot. I had 2 subdomains which have their dns still cleared yet. Do you mind clearing them. resins.com.mt resin.com.mt Thanks. Also the global email rules are not restored when the backup is uploaded. I read that these are usually stored in /etc/vfilters/$domain Is there a way I can get them back? Thanks again.
