This server is under reasonable load, I think. Anyways, the new server will be partitioned into multiple environments (ie. Ruby, Python, PHP, etc.) and I'll try to separate it out like that. The PHP on the new server (named Charlie) will be more permissive, but also more dangerous. Stevie will probably stabilize as more people move to Charlie, so it'd be good if there wasn't a rush to move to Charlie.

Hello all, Recent downtime: Yes, we are alive. I've said it multiple times before and I'll say it again: HelioHost is never going to disappear. If we go down for a while, your conclusion should simply be that we will be back up in a week or so.None of your files are gone. You should be able to login just as before.Last login has been reset for everyone, so don't worry about your account being on the queue for deletion. The reason for this week-long downtime was me being stupid. Apparently, there are these things in *nix called bind mounts. Suffice it to say that they are like links, except rm -rf will traverse them. And cPanel uses these bind mounts for jailshell. Ugh. Bad news: We're still looking into that DDoS thing from earlier, so user sites are still down. Some libraries stuff might have disappeared from this downtime, so if some of your stuff isn't working let us know via the standard support channels. Good news: We're buying a new server. Actually, I already bought a new server. Point is: we have the ad revenue for it, and this recent downtime has only further obviated the need for HelioHost to run on more than one server. Configuration details will follow, but I'm planning to setup the new server as multiple virtual servers. HelioHost and HelioNet will run on an isolated environment, and we'll be running a clustered DNS configuration. We're applying for 501©(3) (non-profit) status. Non-profit = good deals on stuff. We'll probably be offering shell access soon. We'll start out by offering it on select environments on the new servers. Thanks to our loyal users who have stayed with us through this downtime! djbob
  3. Okay, try signing up again then.
  4. No, we only give dedicated IPs for SSL.
  5. Hmm... this is weird. Are you able to login?
  6. We allow sixty per hour.
  7. Okay, try now.
  8. Why do you ask about limits? If you're doing mass mailings you should do it elsewhere.
  9. Yeah, everything is going to be down right now. I'll leave this thread open and you can reply again once we're online.
  10. Sorry, but we can't offer dedicated IPs at this time, and regardless our policy is to only assign them for SSL purposes.
  11. I'm working on this issue. I'll keep you guys updated here.
  12. You'll need to upon new threads for each of those problems.
  13. Okay, should now be installed.
  14. You don't have root access, so a lot of installs don't work for you.
  15. Yeah, it looks like there are a lot of accounts in the queue. There was a bug in a script, and so the account creator wasn't running. It'll be a few days, but your account will be created eventually.
  16. No problem.
  17. Next times it happens, please: 1) Check the "Server Load" under "Server Status" in your cPanel. 2) Check your error log and posted any relevant errors. I really don't know where to start if I can't repro the bug. Sorry
  18. Tell them to give me specific instructions. What commands do they want me to run? My guess is that if I need to run any commands that you can't, they're going to be server-wide.
  19. Should be installed now.
  20. No, you'll have to move hosts.
  21. Thanks for the professional advice, but I generally consider almost year-old versions to be pretty stable. If PDO has bugs then that's their problem. I'm closing this thread now.
  22. No problem
  23. Upon further investigation, it looks like this is a known bug in PHP 5.3. The error I get in error_log is: symbol lookup error: [...] undefined symbol: sqlite3_libversion http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=48614 http://forums.cpanel.net/f5/undefined-symb...ion-148993.html Looks like there's nothing we can do except wait for a fix.
  24. The Customer Service forum is not for taking polls. Have your fun elsewhere.
