Do you want it added as an alias or do you want it added as a separate domain? The best way to decide which way you want it setup is: Do you want to have one set of files for both web addresses so visitors to each domain see the exact same content? If yes, you probably want an alias. If you want to have each website different from the other and for each site to not share the same files and content, you want an addon domain. We can add it either way for you, so just let us know which setup you want. 🙂

Subdomains don't get a httpdocs folder. Instead, you'll see new folders at the same level as your httpdocs folder (which is where your main domain files go) with the same names was your subdomains. You'll put the web files for the subdomains in the folders named after them.

I'm trying to install a Laravel application using the Laravel toolkit but each time I do I hit a bottleneck and it seems that the only way to delete a failed attempt is to reset the account. I have tried installing by connecting to github - this failed to find the app. I have tried pushing my files to the host but the hosting document root was set to /httpdocs and I couldn't see a way to change it to /httpdocs/public so this also failed. I then tried using the toolkit skeleton but it appears that this requires ssh access to push the files to the repo it creates which is, i believe, not allowed and hence I was just left with the skeleton app. I noticed though that using the Laravel skeleton at least set my document root was set to /httpdocs/public after trying to deploy the app. I have read the wiki and help files and the documentation on Plesk but they don't seem much help with regard to Laravel. Any pointers on how I should go about it would be gratefully apperciated. Douglas

We can change the main domain without resetting, but it must be to a domain that has never been hosted on the account before. Existing addon domains cannot be converted into a main domain without resetting your account as doing so will break the account. Do you want me to add the subdomains and just change the main domain to something like roxanne.helioho.st instead so the other domain is gone?

You just need to set the name servers as you did, and ask us to add the domain to your account. As MoneyBroz asked above, what's your account username?

We'd normally suggest that you simply request a second domain instead (you can have up to 10 at no cost), then build the site on the extra domain. You can just send the files and databases to the other person when the project is finished for them to set up. That said, since you already went this route, I'll allow it this time, but what you're describing does technically violate our TOS because you do own two accounts up until you give the second account to the other person. Alternately, in the future if you really want to have an entire account you can transfer to someone in a ready-to-go state, you could buy a Morty account for them. Morty accounts don't have a multiple account restriction, so you could buy a $5 Morty account and build their site in there, then when you're finished, just transfer it and let the balance run out, it will turn into a Tommy account at no cost to them. Unsuspended.

Hello HelioHost Team, I received a notice about a possible Terms of Service violation regarding multiple accounts, and I want to clarify. I am developing a website for another person. For testing and hosting purposes, I created a new account to set things up for them. My plan is to transfer the account to them by changing the email so they will have full ownership and access going forward. I understand your concerns about multiple accounts, but I want to emphasize that I will only maintain my personal account, and the new account will belong solely to the person I’m developing the site for. Also while saying to users that they can respongby email in 24 hours and can avoid any downtime for their website , if the user does reply ghosting his email and then proceding to suspend the accounts without listeining their points, i believe is very saddening to see from an organisation which is acting against its motto now , oppressing people and their voice. You're welcome! I've just added that last one now, so it'll work in up to 2 hours. Once a request has been marked [Solved], we usually recommend raising a new ticket, just to make sure nothing gets missed accidentally. Stuff not marked solved is easier to spot when we look for new posts. But as you can see by my reply here, we do still try to keep an eye on all new posts, so it's not a big deal either way. 🙂
