Ice IT Support Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Lately I have noticed that HelioNet/HelioHost.org have been very unstable and is often unresponsive. Does anyone know what could be causing this, or is it because Cody runs back-to-back with Johnny? Just thought I would point this out. Thanks!
jje Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Yes, I have been noticing instability with Cody, although I am struggling to find a reason why...

Brother Hassan Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Yeah I got this too .... HelioNet won't load at all ...
PenTester Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Often i met with this problem. I thought it is my interconnection problem.
Ice IT Support Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Looking at the server monitor it looks similar to Stevie's slow period after the power spike. Could there be a link in the two issues?
Ice IT Support Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 @djbob: Perhaps the firewall is disabled like it was on Stevie? Hopefully this isn't a hardware issue...
Brother Hassan Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Often i met with this problem. I thought it is my interconnection problem. Hahahahahahaha Same Here I used to curse my Internet connection Â
Tjoene Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I sometimes have the same problems to. I always thought it was my crappy internet connection. As Ice IT Support said, they are on the server. Couldn't it be that when Johnny gets overload, Cody is affected to?
Brother Hassan Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I always thought it was my crappy internet connection. lol Seems we were all deceived Couldn't it be that when Johnny gets overload, Cody is affected to? I agree This could be the problem
Ice IT Support Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 Couldn't it be that when Johnny gets overload, Cody is affected to? That's what I originally thought, but because the new server was set up as two virtual servers (Johnny & Cody), shouldn't there be a way to set a CPU usage limit per server? (i.e. if Johnny uses up his share of the CPU, Cody still has some to work with) I've set up a new virtual server (Cody) on Charlie
Ashoat Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Reason is that Johnny is filled with way too many accounts, and Cody is on the same physical server (Charlie) as Johnny.
Ice IT Support Posted July 21, 2011 Author Posted July 21, 2011 Is there a way to lessen the effects of Johnny's outages on Cody even if they are on the same physical server? because the new server was set up as two virtual servers (Johnny & Cody), shouldn't there be a way to set a CPU usage limit per server? (i.e. if Johnny uses up his share of the CPU, Cody still has some to work with)
Brother Hassan Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Reason is that Johnny is filled with way too many accounts, and Cody is on the same physical server (Charlie) as Johnny. Couldn't you like lessen the load on Cody or something ...
