Terminator02
Windows 7 simply because you know everything out there on the internet will support it, i run ubuntu on my laptop and it's a total pain always looking for alternatives and trying to get something to run. elmyra
I say Windows 7. I've used it, but still have XP on my computer. Hope to get 7 soon. I've used Mac, and it's OK. I just prefer Windows.

Thunderwolf
Got three I use regularly... Win XP: My old pc has it. Good old XP on which all programs still work Win 7: Laptop, came with it. Ok, and for the laptop needed because there's 4GB of RAM. Wolvix (sadly the distro died recently): Good, fast, easy to use Linux without too much crapware you don't need. Rumored to be one of the fastest distro's.

Thunderwolf
So far Windows 8 mostly does just use the ribbon thingy (as in office) in more places like explorer and such... Got a few new things, but looks mostly the same as windows 7.

Only the future knows...
