schase Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago On 9 May I received the email about problems with johnny and the advice to back up my files (which I did). After my account went offline I checked regularly to see when it would come back. I've not received any further emails, but on 24 May I discovered that my account had been deleted, with the option to recreate it. However, the domain has changed for the 'new' account: schase.helioho.st rather than the old schase.heliohost.org. Is this the way it's going to be in future, or can I get the old domain name restored? Note that I'm on a free account; I'm guessing that this is on the restored johnny but am not 100% certain. schase56@gmail.com Quote
wolstech Posted 18 minutes ago Posted 18 minutes ago The .org domains were discontinued for regular users back in 2021. We were forced to move users to a different domain because users kept getting their account hacked or setting up abuse (like phishing sites) and getting the main heliohost.org website blacklisted on places like Facebook. Users that had them prior to that date were allowed to keep them until they were removed from the account (which in the case of the Johnny crash, everyone on Johnny had their domains removed). The helioho.st and heliohost.us domains are the replacements. If you need it back temporarily, it can be added as an alias that redirects to your new domain, however, there will be a time when they stop working entirely for users. Do you want me to do that?
