Yes rewrite is supported. You can configure it using htaccess as you normally would.

I tested the following in /httpdocs

.htaccess:

RewriteEngine On

error_log:

No other directive is in .htaccess

Ok. Sorry. I forgot Total Commander saves files with BOM (\xef\xbb\xbf) by default. Recreated .htacces with Termux (no BOM by default) and issue resolved. Hope this helps someone else down the line.
