feedora Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Quote If you're not sure why your website caused so much load we might be able to help you with that as well. Here I am. I use feedora.helioho.st to host a set of RSS-feeds from my device. I use local python-scripts to curate the content from several sources (creating RSS feeds of websites that don't offer RSS feeds themselve, merge several feeds into one, etc.). A script is running every 10 minutes to compare the creation date of the local feed-file and the feed-file on Heliohost via FTP. If there's a difference, it overwrites the old RSS file on Heliohost with the new local RSS file to Heliohost. I am surprised that there has been a backlog of inquiries. Would it be possible to check the logs? I can't really imagine that this is causing a major backlog of requests. Quote
wolstech Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 The only logs really available are those in Plesk. I was kind of confused when I saw this account causing tons of load a few days ago, as I couldn't find any obvious source for it. An FTP connection shouldn't cause much in terms of load, though perhaps its the fact its every 10 minutes that's an issue. It was for the memory limit being exceeded, which FTP uses basically none of. For now I'll just unsuspend you. If this load continues, we can have Krydos investigate it for you. Unsuspended. It may take a few minutes to work. You can watch your load here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/ Quote
feedora Posted May 30, 2024 Author Posted May 30, 2024 When I looked in occasionally, I didn't see an increased load. But anyway it seems to have happened again, because the site has unfortunately been blocked again. I have no access to Plesk and therefore the logs. ? Quote
wolstech Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Unsuspended again (it was for memory usage). Please take a look at the logs when you get a moment. It may take a few minutes to work. Quote

feedora Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago After 2 years of having a good time with HelioHost recently, my account feedora has been suspended entirely while I do not have a idea why. Could you tell me a reason for the suspension? Quote
wolstech Posted 57 minutes ago Posted 57 minutes ago It's suspended due to high server load, specifically CPU usage. This is usually due to things such as code being stuck in a loop, processes that aren't exiting when finished, running scheduled tasks too frequently, or forgetting to close SFTP connections when you're done with them. Since it's been suspended for more than 24 hours there aren't many details available. Please watch your load here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/ and make any adjustments needed to keep your load down. If you have questions, feel free to ask. Unsuspended. Your account can take up to 2 hours to function. Quote
