infantex Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Hello. I've been receiving e-mails since yesterday with the following message. sudo: unable to resolve host vps40.heliohost.us: Temporary failure in name resolution What should I do to remedy this? Regards,
Krydos Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 The DNS records are set correctly root@tommy2 [/home/krydos]# dig +short A @ns1.heliohost.org vps40.heliohost.us 65.19.141.197 root@tommy2 [/home/krydos]# dig +short A @ns2.heliohost.org vps40.heliohost.us 65.19.141.197 Is the issue still happening or was it just for a few minutes? There have been three 160 Gbps DDoS targeted at Tommy2, our main website, and forum over the past 24 hours so that may have caused short disruptions in your DNS, but they each lasted only 10 minutes or so.
infantex Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 The issue keeps happening every two days or so. For example, I just received 30 of those e-mails in the lapse of three minutes.
Krydos Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 There is another DDoS happening right now so that would explain the emails.
