Ashoat Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Hmmm it would be nice if you did some researchRight, because I don't have enough stuff to do already, I should probably spend a few hours of my day helping you out with your PHPBB problems. How about you do the research yourself? If they tell you that your administrator needs to do something, let me know. Otherwise, if it's something you can do yourself, then I expect you to do it yourself.
Bill Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 Ok djbob, I know that you are overworked... I'll look around the phpbb forums, see what I can find
lanchongzi Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Bill: Did you find something helpful? I just installed PhpBB via Fatastico, install worked fine, it also looks pretty nice only Problem is that people get an internal server problem during submission. I will also search a bit on the PhpBB Forum, sadly my time is rather limited since i am working on my Master thesis right now. So if you find anything please let us know as well Thanks in advance
Wizard Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 djbob, I did the grunt work (the entire ordeal of clicking on the first hit on google search was exhausting), look here: http://www.robgolding.com/index.php/2007/0...creen-of-death/ I'm not quite sure if this applies to the situation here, but it's worth looking into.
Wizard Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Also talked to the folks on #phpBB, they suggested that I take a look at the php error log. That's not enabled on our cpanel is it, djbob?
lanchongzi Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 For some reason it works now, here on my computer at least, once again i got an error after i tried a couple of times so now i asked my friends to check if they an register, login and post topics, messages and so on. maybe it only suffers minor hickups
Bill Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Hmmm yes that could be... When I tried to update the fantastico phpbb 3.0.4 to 3.0.5 for the first few times it gave me errors then after like 5 refreshes it worked... I wonder...
Ashoat Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Also talked to the folks on #phpBB, they suggested that I take a look at the php error log. That's not enabled on our cpanel is it, djbob? There is no such thing as a PHP error log. There are Apache error logs, which contain PHP errors. Check your cPanel error log, and look for an "error_log" file in the directory that contains the PHP file. There is a suPHP error log, but that should be irrelevant.
