So, I manage an existing website for a friend who uses 1&1 (she's been with them since long before I knew her). I got a lovely email yesterday from them yesterday...apparently as of next week, they're going to charge users $8.50 a month to use PHP 5.x, and anyone who signs up after June 1 won't even have the option of PHP 5.x. This is after they raised their normal fee $80/year too. What a joke.

I mean, I know 5.x is technically unsupported, but considering that the wide majority of PHP software out there doesn't run on 7.x...who in their right mind thought that was a good idea?

Oh well, time to move her site to Tommy...(Joomla 2.5 that isn't updatable because of custom theme and paid plugins).
