scmddm Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 created an account and can not connect to ftp, ftp error 10060address: johnny.heliohost.orgport: 21user: sc.mddm@<...>subdomain: ercmddm
wolstech Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Did you specify Plain FTP (insecure) when connecting? We do not support FTP over TLS. If you want a secure connection, you need to use SFTP on port 1373 instead.
scmddm Posted July 22, 2018 Author Posted July 22, 2018 Thanks for the answer, I did not try to use TLS.At home, could connect using the scmddm user name (without the dot symbol and without part @ <...>), user ftp = user site: scmddm - true sc.mddm - false sc.mddm @ <...> - false scmddm @ <...> - falseand I need to use the option: Use passive transfer modeAfter tomorrow I'll try again at work, maybe I banned the server while I tried to connect using the full email.

wolstech Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Great Correct on those usernames. Your account's username is scmddm, that's what you need to use. For reference:Account usernames only allow [a-z][A-Z][0-9] and are limited to 8 characters (symbols are stripped and longer names are truncated). This limit does not apply to extra FTP or email accounts you can create in cPanel, only to the hosting account username itself.Passwords are limited to 18 characters (longer may work but has been historically shown to break certain features).
