It's already installed. Mod_rewrite is standard on all of our servers.

I'm not sure why this doesn't want to work for your software, but considering URL rewriting works properly, I'd have to assume the software is broken.

 

I just tested it on Ricky here: http://rax.heliohost.org/helloworld properly rewrites to http://rax.heliohost.org/info.php
