There have been a couple of cases when the site hasn't loaded but there's been some text with my username which is based on my real name which I'd rather have anonymous. For the hosting account, the only way to change the username is to delete your account and start over. If you're worried about your account name showing up in paths in error messages, you could just disable the errors instead. PHP errors can be easily suppressed by adding error_reporting(0); to the first line of your scripts. Other languages probably have a similar option.
