webdevsemo Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 The address is 195.138.91.118 "A" point is that whether or not this happens again is out of my control or anybody else's here who uses your hosting unless they're the ones doing all the botched logins!
wolstech Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 It was for failed SFTP logins. Someone probably saved the wrong password in an FTP client somewhere. Check that you're using the correct password and if you can, disable the auto-retry option in your FTP client. Unblocked
webdevsemo Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 Hmmm... I'm still getting the message that my IP is blocked. :\
wolstech Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 That's odd. You're definitely not blocked on our end. These usually take up to 10 minutes to unblock though, so it's possible you tried too quickly. Can you try again?
webdevsemo Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 (edited) It's hard to say. I've been waiting about 10 minutes for my control panel to load post login submission. This is a general problem that I've had since signing up. I'm on the Johnny server. Could I be better off on another? I don't know whether my location could have to do with it too. ? I'm in Eastern Europe. Edited February 12, 2018 by cwfloyd
wolstech Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Johnny is an experimental server and is not meant for users needing fast or reliable service. Johnny is severely overloaded due to us allowing unlimited accounts, and your experience with Johnny is normal. If you need something reliable, you need to pick one of our limited signup servers. Ricky is your best bet right now since we offer free accounts for that server. The registration opens every day at midnight UTC, and fills quickly. New accounts per day are limited to help keep him running fast. Tommy is also an option, but a donation is required for that server at the moment because it's almost out of disk space.
webdevsemo Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 what kind of a donation would that need by the way?
wolstech Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 $1 or more will get you a Tommy account within 24 hours (an email will get sent to your paypal/skrill email address with a link to create it). You can donate here: https://heliohost.org/donate/ If you donate with crypto, please post on the forums with the txid, type, and number of coins sent. Or, if you donate $5 or more to our current fundraiser on GoFundMe, you get the Tommy account now, and an extra GB of space in a few months once the equipment is installed.
wolstech Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Also, for reference, here's a good view of what our server performance looks like: http://heliohost.grd.net.pl/monitor/ You can see why Johnny isn't the best thing in the world...
webdevsemo Posted February 19, 2018 Author Posted February 19, 2018 Ok, I made a donation, the minimum for now. I did that last week Wednesday. Should I have gotten a link (for a Tommy account) yet?
wolstech Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I responded in your other topic as well...it's because you already have an account. You can only have one account at a time. Do you want me to just move the existing Johnny account to tommy?
