cuzinsws Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 username: cuzinswsMy war deploy (cuzins-web-service-v1.0.1) says there was an error. Can I get what that error was?
cuzinsws Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 So that error above was for my first deploy. I have since fixed the above error done another deploy and again it says there was an error. Is there a new error log? Thanks

cuzinsws Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 Yes, I am trying to write that log file. Is there a different place I should be logging? Also, I have another war file to try on cuzinsws, Filename: cuzins-web-service-1.0.1.war please let me know if this one works or if you have any suggestions on getting a spring boot war file to work.
Krydos Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Try creating a file somewhere like /home/cuzinsws/server.log with at least 666 permissions or higher. This will allow the user that tomcat runs as to read/write to the file. Then make sure you write to it using the full absolute path. If you try to use a relative path you'll most likely get denied. Also, I don't have time to sit here and post logs for you all day. Start simple like http://wiki.helionet.org/Java_Servlet and if that works build from there one feature at a time. If you just jump in head first doing 50 things at once any one of them could fail. If you get a basic .war working then add logging to a file. If that works go from there.
cuzinsws Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 Thanks for the help. Is there a way I can deploy my war file and start it up myself? I don't want to have to bother any of the admins. I have a project I already completely built that I use to run somewhere else and I'm just trying to get it configured to work on heliohost.
Krydos Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 You can deploy your .war and start it up at https://tommy.heliohost.org:2083/frontend/paper_lantern/java/index.live.php
