DmC Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I would like to ask if it's possible to install the following plugin in cPanel as it's currently not available (can't find the icon): https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/CKB/The+Let%27s+Encrypt+Plugin Thanks
wolstech Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 That doesn't do what everyone thinks it does. Please see my response here (and the links in Krydos' post below mine) about why we can't use it: http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/27746-letsencrypt-support/?do=findComment&comment=126727
DmC Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 I see. The answer lies on http://wiki.helionet.org/Installing_an_SSL_Certificate_with_ZeroSSL Another and last question: Is there any way to add CAA records by myself for my domains? I would like to add somehow the following records for my two domains (I am paranoid, right?): <domain>. 3600 IN CAA 0 issue "letsencrypt.org" <domain>. 3600 IN CAA 0 issuewild "letsencrypt.org" <domain>. 3600 IN CAA 0 iodef "mailto:admin@" <domain>. 3600 IN CAA 0 issue "letsencrypt.org" <domain>. 3600 IN CAA 0 issuewild "letsencrypt.org" <domain>. 3600 IN CAA 0 iodef "mailto:admin@"
wolstech Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 We don't support CAA records because cPanel doesn't support them. In fact, even CloudFlare doesn't support them just yet (and they're a big DNS provider). The RFC is too new and hasn't been widely adopted. It also doesn't help that most DNS software out there doesnt support them yet either. For those who are interested: What is a CAA record? https://support.dnsimple.com/articles/caa-record/ And a cPanel feature request: https://features.cpanel.net/topic/add-support-for-caa-dns-records-type-257
DmC Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 Cloudflare will add support to it next day after cPanel includes it. Imho cPanel is a great "tool" of pressure for services like CF when features are added to it as most major hosting providers use it by default.
