geroco Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Cpanel suddenly stops accepting my current password, I try to reset it, it gives me a temporary one, I enter it and it doesn't work. What's up with that?
Krydos Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 What's up with that is you keep trying to log in with the wrong password. 38 failed guesses this time...
geroco Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 Well hey, at a situation like this, I'm questioning my sanity as it is. For one, I'm certain I don't have Alzheimer's disease (I think) so I'm sure I use the same password every day. At some point it stops accepting it, I have no idea what's going on, I try to reset it but it doesn't accept the temporary one either. What else am I to do?
Krydos Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Do you have any applications that would log in with the wrong saved password? Sometimes we see people save their password in their FTP client, then change theier password without updating the FTP client.
geroco Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 If you can do the password reset thing again, I'll be out of your way. My apologies for causing inconvenience. Edit: Sometimes we see people save their password in their FTP client, then change theier password without updating the FTP client. That might have been what happened in my case, yeah. But it still doesn't explain why Cpanel rejects the temporary passwords I receive when I reset.
geroco Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 Wont work with last temporary password though.
geroco Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 So uh, any chance I can get that reset? Never mind, I figured it out. Once again I apologize for causing trouble.
Krydos Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 It's not a problem, but I wish I could help more. All we can see from the logs is someone/something from your IP is trying to log in with incorrect passwords.
