Helions Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 you are traveling and come upon a fork in the road...one road leads to death, while the other road leads to a land of riches...there are a set of twins at the fork...you can only ask them one question each, and one of them always lies while the other always tells the truth...what would you ask them?
joemama718 Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 haha...i've seen a version of this one before...did u reword it? cause originally there's a village of liars and a village of truthtellers, and you have to ask both which village you came from...cause the liar would point to the village of truthtellers, and the truthteller would point to that village too... but maybe its not the same joke. =X
Helions Posted April 22, 2007 Author Posted April 22, 2007 haha...i've seen a version of this one before...did u reword it? cause originally there's a village of liars and a village of truthtellers, and you have to ask both which village you came from...cause the liar would point to the village of truthtellers, and the truthteller would point to that village too... but maybe its not the same joke. =X actually, there's a lot of versions of this riddle(it's not a joke!)...this is the one i was told back in grade school...i thought it was a pretty good riddle... anyways, yea you got it right... let's say the way you should go is left...since the twin who tells the truth will say left, the liar says that he will say right...since the twin who lies will say right, the twin that tells the truth says that the liar will say right...so you go left...whew, that was kinda confusing, huh? =)
Helions Posted April 27, 2007 Author Posted April 27, 2007 which way they wanna go LOL honestly, everything you post makes no sense at all...
Helions Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 wow that was total over my head lol haha yea, it's kind of confusing...here, let me try to explain it again... let's say the correct way to go is the left...if you ask each one what the other would say, then they'd both say right...see, if you ask the truthful guy what his lying brother would say, the truthful guy would say right since he knows his brother would lie...if you ask the liar brother what his truthful brother would say, he would say right since he is a liar...therefore, you should go left... =)
AverageJoe Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Got it now k heres one A man will be condemned to his death for eating from the tree of fruity lolypops. He gets one last statement before he dies, and this statement will determine how he dies. If the statement is true, he is wil be hanged, if the statement is false he will be drowned. What does he say to confuse the jury and delay his imminent death?
Harlequin Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I love riddles, they're great to work out. I had a really, really good one, but I can't remember it. Instead, I'll say this one: What crawls on four legs in the morning, walks on two in the day and walks on three at night?
Asgard Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Man =]. I first heard of the riddle in an episode of 'Flint the Time Detective' when I was a kid. I stumbled across it again last month, when I was translating a Greek text for school.
Harlequin Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 You are correct! It's kind of an easy riddle, though. The one I had in my head before it was much better, but I forgot it. ^^'
