faguirre Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Hi, im using HelioHost for a webpage that tracks my car over gps, I made the test on a local server that i put to work on my computer and i was using PostgreSQL + PostGIS, PostGis is an extension, but it needs to be installed on the server. PostGIS adds support for geographic objects to the PostgreSQL object-relational database. In effect, PostGIS "spatially enables" the PostgreSQL server, allowing it to be used as a backend spatial database for geographic information systems (GIS), much like ESRI's SDE or Oracle's Spatial extension. Please install this extension, I'm on Jhonny Server, but if you install it on Stevie, I can migrate. Thank you!
Cerdeira Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I've added this to our todo list on Johnny. What about upgrade the phpPgAdmin to version 5.1 and Postgresql to 9.2.x? How do we know that you already install postgis? Thanks,
Krydos Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 A post will be made on this thread, and an announcement will be made on twitter/facebook/helionet news when/if we install PostGIS or upgrade PostgreSQL. Installing PostGIS will require recompiling all of PostgreSQL and possibly breaking cPanel integration so it's not a trivial matter to accomplish.
