AverageJoe Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I have periodically been experiencing some downtime in helionet. Is this due to the new upgrade( because I haven't heard of any downtime after the store was installed)? Is the upgrade done; whats causing this?
Ashoat Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 What's causing this is the new surge of members we're getting. As soon as we get our new shipment of ad money I'll upgrade the server and the random downtimes and slow load times will dissappear. That will happen before the end of this month
Quantum Media LLC Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Thats cool, because i was wondering the same thing.... its good to hear that we are getting new members. I am trying to get everyone i work with to sign up so hopefully thats some of the members.
AverageJoe Posted March 10, 2007 Author Posted March 10, 2007 I've posted a good review in the free hosting site. I hope that helionet really grows. If there is any way I can help get more members, I would love to help.
lappy512 Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Just as a FYI, you can find uptime statistics here: http://helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=77
Kelso Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Ahhhh! I just registered with another hosting company because I thought this one was going down the tubes! At least I kept a DB and File Backup. Glad to hear that Helio is getting more visitors though.
AverageJoe Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 When can we expect the periods of down time to stop?

Just like any other member based website, when you get more visitors you will eventually need to upgrade software and hardware which will give you some downtime. I dont think that it is cool that you openly post that you have gone over to another hosting company because you think that heliohost/helionet has gone down the tubes.
AverageJoe Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 I think he was implying that he was glad that the down time was caused by this and not just that Helionet was messing up. I'm just glad its back up.
Ashoat Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 When can we expect the periods of down time to stop?ASAP. The minimum waiting time would be probably been a week, the maximum is by the end of the month. I have just purchased new equipment, but it takes some time to configure the equipment for use with HelioHost, as HelioHost uses highly modified systems for automated ad placement, security, and extra features.
Quantum Media LLC Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 EXCELLENT! I have been posting reviews in forum review sites about helionet and heliohost for site hosting
Ashoat Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks, much appreciated Server should be online tommorow, which is when I'll start working on customizing it for HelioHost.
Ashoat Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Yes I am currently working on customizing it for use with HelioHost.
