Hello,

I just got an email from Google Webmaster Tools saying they couldn't see my website for the last 24hrs. I can get to it, but it seems a little laggy. When I ping and traceroute it, from every site I have access to (admiittedly all on the east coast), it also seems very laggy and the traceroute fails around 10 hops in.

I see that NS2 is down. Is this the cause? Or is something else going on? Er, uh... I mean. What gives?!? xD

Thanks!

All I get when I open your website is a blank page.

And no http error.

NS2 has been down for 7 months, so that's not the issue.

The server and account seem fine, although your account's website is not returning anything useful. When visited, I get the following HTML as the content:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Frameset//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-frameset.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
</html>

No head or body...my guess is that whatever software you used for your site died on you. Try removing all index files from your public_html folder and put an index.html with some text in there. If you see that when you visit your site, you need to repair/reinstall the software for your website.

Oh, my bad. The index for the site root is just a blank page. It should have occured to me that you would actually try to view my page..... http://skaven.heliohost.org/belegarth/CSS/html/ is where my actual content is located. I have a few redirectors that get people there from easier links (http://skaven.heliohost.org/belegarth/ being one of them).

There really isn't anything special going on with my site... basic HTML/CSS. That's it. It's very... uh... late 90s. I haven't done much at all with it since around then, except to ditch the frames so it would index better (and to move it to heliohost when I realized that Geocities died).

All that said, it seems to have fixed itself; Google can fetch it now. The ping and the traceroot are still weird though - it takes a full 4 seconds between pings, but has a round trip of < 100ms... which just seems off to me. Then, I don't make a habit of pinging my website (or calling my own phone for that matter), so maybe it's always been that way.

Sorry for being a space cadet on the odd specifics of my site content. :-)
