Guest sonok Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 The file you eare reffering to is a software I created that contains no virus at all. The only flaw with it is that during its installation, it prompts the user to install additional software from third party vendors. The user can easily opt-out from that. The software offers come from a trusted source (RevenYou.com). That was the most convinient way for me to monetize my software. I uploaded the file to http://cgi.clamav.net/sendvirus.cgi as a false positive and I'm waiting for the results, but I'm not very optimistic about it, since antivirus vendors, in order to get their detection rates higher, usually treat this kind of installers as Adware - PUP. If I have to remove my software, there is no point in keeping the website alltogether.Could I have any suggestions on what to do?Maybe zipping the file will protect it from your AV detection? I'd be grateful for any help.Thanks.
yashrs Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 You can always upload that file to file sharing services like Dropbox to avoid getting detected.
