blogzon Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Hi, I have a site hosted at heliohost.org. My username at heliohost is blogzon and my website url is http://www.hdvideocameraworld.com/. There is an issue with my disk space usage. My mail space occupies around 40mb, which is surprising, as I don't have that many mails in my inbox. When I checked through file manager, I found out that a folder titled 'new' located inside the 'mail' folder (located in the root), was occupying that space. There are around 2000 files accumulated inside the 'new' folder that occupy the space. I tried deleting the files, but they keep coming back. These seem like automated delivery-fail mails, addressed to a frogan@gmx.com. I' unable to undertstand the reason for these mails. Could you please assist in solving this issue, as I think my disk space is being used unnecessarily..Thanks
Byron Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 It sounds like somebody is using your account to send spam. Change your password and then clear all of your emails and see if that takes care of it.
blogzon Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 I deleted all the accumulated files inside the folder 'new' and changed the account as well as email password yesterday, but again today these files have appeared. Though the disk space is not adding up quickly, I guess if I leave these files to gather, eventually the used space will increase. I need to know what's causing this to happen. Pl help with this.

Krydos Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Yeah, it looks like you have some plugin or wordpress setting or malware maybe sending tons of emails from your account. Fix the wordpress so it doesn't try to send thousands of emails and your mailbox will stop filling up.
Krydos Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Marking this as solved since there has been no response from the account owner in over two weeks. Let us know if you still need help preventing your account from sending spam emails.
