I need a admin to run a specific shelled perl daemon on my account. When i try to run the .pl the gateway times out. If a admin could run the shell script i have with it for linux based operating systems and tell me the outcome it would be greatly appreciated.

it listens on a udp port for my game servers log files and processes them into statistics and sends them back out to my other domain to be processed into a mySQL database. currently i have to run the daemon on my pc which kills my electric bill

The recommended way to run perl scripts is either as a cgi, or by starting it with a cron job. Just make sure you don't exceed 2 cron runs per day or use up too much system resources. Either will get your account suspended.
