Australian-Assault Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Hi i am new and over the past couple of hours i have gone through the whole forum and i cant seem to find much on graphics so i am starting this for people to recommend which graphics software is the best to use, also can you list any free software that has the same or simmillar features to software which costs money (eg photoshop). 1337 Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 For the free software, GIMP is an excellent GFX program that has many functions of photoshop and PSP. Quote
Kyougi Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Photoshop and GIMP, really all I've ever needed for 2D... ever. 3DS Max 8 allows you to create 3D renderings, and Adobe Premiere is great for video editing (both commercial). Corel Painter is great to use with a drawing tablet. That's all I can think of right now. Quote
miccadoin Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 i use photoshop, i havent tried GIMP but ive heard of it. if u want something for vector images get illistrator(by adobe) u cant do as much as photoshop but its still good to have. another one is macromedia fireworks, its also by adobe but its not as advanced as photoshop, its not free but i snaked it off the school pc's you can do the same basic work as u do in photoshop its just different to use. surfcss Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I prefer Fireworks, It's mainly for web graphics, but it's unbelievably powerful and alot more simple than Photoshop. Quote
miccadoin Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 really, in what ways is it better ??? Quote
Dragonfire Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 is there any other small software that has that magic wand tool? Quote
Kyougi Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 is there any other small software that has that magic wand tool? GIMP, Photoshop, Paint Pro, and Fireworks are the only ones I care about that has a magic wand tool. Quote
open Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Ive used Photoshop for the last 3 years its really great currently using cs2 also gimp is great ive used it also great and free Quote
Kelso Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I use GIMP, Blender (blender3d.org), and iMovie for Video Editing. I'm sure that there is a Linux video editor, but my computer is so slow it can't handle it. Grrrrr. Open Source [almost] all the way! Quote
kyle Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 it wasnt illegal. I just read all your rules, your Etiquette Guide open, and your Official Spam Guide and your Official Rules Guide. There is nothing about Illegal Content in any of your rules. Quote
AverageJoe Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Thats not rules, its common sense, they don't need the govt. breething down their back. Quote

However, like awsomejoe23 said, it's common sense that you don't post warez and things of the sort. djbob forgot to put it in, so I did, make note of that. Quote
