[Solved] Ftp Log In / Email

Hi,

I'm trying to log into my account through Fetch.

I'm using the hostname (ftp.yudesigndesign.heliohost.org) and my username and password.

However, for some reason, I can't log in. Am I doing something wrong?

I've already changed my DNS to heliohost's.

 

My second problem is with the email.

I set up an email with my website. I can send emails but I can't seem to receive.

I'm wondering why this is happening and how this can be solved.

That domain doesn't exist on either server. Are your sure that's the domain of your account? What is your Heliohost username?

That's quite strange. I can access my cpanel and I'm pretty sure that's my domain.

Yes, that's me. I've tried that hostname, but it doesn't connect.

I think I'll wait until tomorrow to see if it will work.

I changed the dns about 4 hours ago, so maybe it just needs more time.

If you change your main domain then it can take up to 24 for the new domain to start working. http://yudesigndesign.com/ appears to be working now. If you're still seeing the queued page don't forget to clear your browser cache.

 

As far as the FTP goes you can go to http://johnny.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/x3/ftp/accounts.html and then scroll to the bottom and to the right of the line that say yudesign /home/yudesign/ click "Configure FTP client" and that will show you the FTP credentials that you should be able to log in with. You can choose SFTP or FTP depending on your client and what it's capable of.

 

As far as the email goes, you don't need to have a functional domain to send email, but if the rest of the email servers in the world can't find your domain because it hasn't been added for 24 hours or more, then you won't receive any emails since the incoming emails don't know where to go. However, most email servers should continue trying to resend undeliverable emails for 72 hours so you should get them eventually.

 

I think the entire problem was changing your main domain deleted your old .heliohost.org domain, and you didn't realize that it would take up to 24 hours to get the new .com working. Let us know if you're still having issues with FTP and mail.
