I often work through the middle of the night. This is also when most companies reboot their servers for scheduled maintenance. Do you guys reboot? When? How often?

Both servers at once?

There are some cron jobs that run at various low load parts of the night starting around midnight PST, but in general the servers never reboot. If they crash completely and are completely unresponsive to ssh and all forms of access then they will be rebooted.

The last reboot on cody was over 72 days ago.

The last reboot on johnny was over 84 days ago.

The last reboot on stevie was about 3.5 days ago because it crashed.

Great to know! Thanks for the quick reply. Those have to be Linux boxes to be up for so long. Well I guess Server 2003 - 2008 are pretty good but Linux has always had great uptime.

Thanks again - X

Apache is restarted "gracefully," which means you won't be able to even tell when the restart happens.
