Hi guys,

 

I have been using mozilla thunderbird to send and receive emails for my self and my employees.

 

It was working fine up until end of last/beginning of this week. I havent made any changes to the config.

 

Showing message:

 

"Sending of message failed.

The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server mail.otcsalesandmarketing.co.cc timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator."

I think I found the reason. http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=65.19.143.2

IP Address 65.19.143.2 is listed in the CBL. It appears to be infected with a spam sending trojan or proxy.

 

It was last detected at 2011-10-10 11:00 GMT (+/- 30 minutes), approximately 1 days, 7 hours, 30 minutes ago.

 

It has been relisted following a previous removal at 2010-09-09 01:43 GMT (397 days, 17 hours, 12 minutes ago)

It should be delisted soon.

 

This seems to only be affecting stevie server. Unlike last time I did remember to check johnny as well.

If you had clicked my link you would have seen that

IP Address 65.19.143.2 is not listed in the CBL.

 

It was previously listed, but was removed at 2011-10-11 18:59 GMT (1 hours, 37 minutes ago)

It's already delisted. However long it takes to propagate through the innumerable email systems of the world is anyone's guess though.

 

I just tested an email account on stevie and it worked both directions. So, I guess it propagates pretty fast.

its still timing out for me, with the same message as before.

 

receiving emails absolutely fine, but timing out when i try to send.

 

settings are as follows:

 

"SMTP SERVER:

 

Server name: mail.otcsalesandmarketing.co.cc

Port: 25

Connection Security: SSL/TLS

Authentication Method: Normal Password

user name: ryan.tate+otcsalesandmarketing.co.cc"

 

can you see any errors on my behalf?

Port 25 does not have SSL/TLS enabled.
