admin4km Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 'To Build a Website' by "Jack London " .... That's why I need a website. I can pay people to build a website, I can spare time to build a website. I have spare time. With "Just-in-Time Knowledge Management" I skim pages of website related. I try Apache, XAMPP, WAMPP, for localhost with dynamic dns. And, I come up with a conclusion that system specification of my localhost need upgrade to host a reliable website. I try sub domain in free web hosting. And, I come up with a conclusion that sub domain would do just fine to have a web site. But, I need to satisfied expectation from the business and legal point of view. Thus, I need a Top Level Domain (TLDs). So, I registered a domain namely koppi-multimedia.com Now, I need a Server Name (SN) for my domain. I registered for free web hosting service at helionet.org. And, wait 24-48 hours to access http://www.koppi-multimedia.com/cpanel. "It daemonized" the site said. Then an administrator namely Krydos told me "If you go to heliohost.org and scroll to the very bottom of the page you should be able to login to cpanel before the .com gets resolved. That way you can start uploading some of your files and working on your website even before it's viewable through a browser." Great service, thank you Krydos. Just before, I ask Qwords.com at which I registered my domain to configure Name Server for koppi-multimedia.com with ns1.heliohost.org ns2.heliohost.org. "Status update and propagation need 2x24 to 7x24" the site said. Now, I'm figuring out of what's in http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/...rted/index.html I read that allowing port should be easy by open windows firewall, clik exception, type WebDisk as a name, add port 2078 as TCP, ok. However, from several failure, I try different programs of port manager and scanner, they are over qualification to my need who just need to allow port 2078. Thank you xaav and jje. My patience reward me with access to www.koppi-multimedia.com/cpanel. It does take time and daemonized any way Now, I can add http://www.koppi-multimedia.com: in Add Network Place, and get result as explained in the Getting Started. I can't use https, I try http, it works!. But, when I install WebDisk.vbs the following message appear "Activex can't create object "InternetExplorer. Application". What should I do? After research the answer came. Thank you Krydos. FileZilla works. I can access the directory of www.koppi-multimedia.com. Now, I need a web builder to design pages in sync with FileZilla and www.helionet.org with drag and drop feature. I also need a Live Help on my site without obligation to join in any form of registration, just click and have chat with people from live help. Thank you xaav. I uploaded a beta page of www.koppi-multimedia.com and works. Now, I'm exploring the apps suit to my need. Bandung0109110935am It is now "Day 3" I'm growing knowledge and expertise on to build a website. Meanwhile, I update index.html of www.koppi-multimedia.com directly from My Network Places with Microsoft Publisher. Linked sites reflect the course of what I'm learning. What a deep, the impact we can make when we release to public the edited story of 'To Build a Web Site'. Is there anyone can help me on the long load and then halted when I access the Facebook account of bungjim@gmail.com
Krydos Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Yeah, I suppose so. If you go to heliohost.org and scroll to the very bottom of the page you should be able to login to cpanel before the .com gets resolved. That way you can start uploading some of your files and working on your website even before it's viewable through a browser.

Guest xaav Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Are you in a school or corporation? They might be blocking it.
jje Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 You can use the standard port to attempt to login; read the instructions on the wiki article: http://wiki.helionet.org/How_to_access_cPanel
admin4km Posted August 28, 2011 Author Posted August 28, 2011 Are you in a school or corporation? They might be blocking it. I should be the admin of the pc I'm working in 'To Build a Website'. Internet connection provide by wireless unlimited broadband namely Tri and a usb HSDPA modem. You can use the standard port to attempt to login; read the instructions on the wiki article: http://wiki.helionet.org/How_to_access_cPanel Great wiki, but I can't find article on WebDisk.vbs installation error saying: activex can't create object "InternetExplorer.Application".
Krydos Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Great wiki, but I can't find article on WebDisk.vbs installation error saying: activex can't create object "InternetExplorer.Application". Have you tried a nice sFTP client such as FileZilla? I have gotten webdisk to work in the past but I think it's too flaky of a service and too much debugging if it doesn't just work on the first try. By the way, if you're using Windows I can strongly advocate against using integrated windows ftp. Nothing is worse.

Guest xaav Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Now, I need a web builder to design pages in sync with FileZilla and www.helionet.org with drag and drop feature. If you have the money, I would recommend dreamweaver. If you don't, here are some alternatives: http://blog.webdistortion.com/2008/04/12/w...to-dreamweaver/ I also need a Live Help on my site without obligation to join in any form of registration, just click and have chat with people from live help. You could use IRC, like we have here on helionet. If that's too basic for you, look here: http://sixrevisions.com/tools/10-free-webs...te-interactive/

admin4km Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 9/11 2011 1528 Fluency in Dreamweaver, to build a website in general, require vocabulary and grammatical acquisition of HTML. If beautiful composition is inherent in every language. HTML has CSS to create concisely a beautiful websites. I ask jje an immediate assistance on how to share file on ftp without obligation to submit username and password. While waiting answer from jje I try to create an ftp account namelyy 'you' with password '123'. Then I placed MissUniverse2011.wmv in the directory of 'you'. From Filezilla I right clicked the file and copy the url, paste on the browser, keep on asking for username and password. Then, I manage the files in My Network Places from windows explorer, because my c-panel are locked because brute force detected. Why? I figured out that's resulted from when I several times clicked 'you' directory in Filezilla, the ftp account ask for username and password, meanwhile Filezilla already reserved quick connect bar for koppi-multimedia.com. And, c-panel security protocol interpreted that as brute force. From My Network Places I double click 'you' folder. Create new folder namely MissUniverse2011, and placed MissUniverse2011.wmv there. I right click the file to see the properties, copy the address of the file which is http://koppi-multimedia.com/you/MissUniver...niverse2011.wmv ,paste on browser adress bar. Yes, Download Manager ask to download the file. However I still need answer on how to create anonymous ftp account on heliohost.org cpanel because I can find the explanation in help files and in Google.
admin4km Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 Lots and lots of reading. There is a folder namely HTML FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNER, CSS FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNER, PHP FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNER, WEB DESIGN FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNER. Now, I'm reading 'Interact With Web Standards: A Holistic Approach to Web Design'. Someday, I wish there is a flash application teaching 'WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNER'.
Krydos Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 You cannot upload anything to our servers through anonymous ftp. That is by design for security reasons.
