Krydos Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Is it allowed to change your domain name? At first i was shooting at one thing, and now i want to make another website.but since heliohost only allows one account, can i change my domain name? You sure can, you can use http://wiki.helionet.org/Changing_your_main_domain to change your main domain or you could just use a parked domain http://wiki.helionet.org/Parked,_Add...#Parked_Domains to add your new domain name and no one would ever even have to see your old domain if they accessed it through the parked domain. If the issue is that you have paid for the domain you are currently using and are going to let it expire I would recommend the first option. If you just want the url line that you give people to say something different I would recommend the second option. Quote
SC__Programmer Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 thanks when it says "and desired domain here:",does that mean i have to enter .heliohost.org on the end of it? Quote
Krydos Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 thanks when it says "and desired domain here:",does that mean i have to enter .heliohost.org on the end of it? Yes. http://example/ doesn't do much, but http://example.heliohost.org/ or http://example.com/ might. The reason it doesn't automatically append .heliohost.org is because you can have something like example.com as your main domain. Quote
