    Awesome news!

Wow, that's really awesome! I especially appreciate the separation of PHP. ;]
  2. Hi guys, do you know what's the reason for HelioHost being so often down for few minutes and hours in the recent days? Sometimes, when I try to access my website, I recognize that HelioHost isn't available at all. During the last week, it happens every day at least one time. I have no idea what is going on. Thanks, Nick
  3. Okay, thanks. I'll try some analysis for myself.
  4. Well, my code seems to be fine. If I try files smaller than 8 MB, it works. Theoretically, there *could* be a bug in my code. I have written it manually. But is it possible that the size issue is related to bad code?!
  5. Hi, I have some trouble with file uploads via HTTP. While the PHP configuration overview in cPanel says that upload_max_filesize would be set to 20 MB, my upload attempts fail with about 8 MB and above. I tried to catch the PHP variable $_FILES, but it wasn't set so there was no error ID. Am I doing something wrong or is the size limit set to another value than told by cPanel? Thanks in advance, electromoth
  6. Wow, it works! I'm glad to be a HelioHost customer. Thanks a lot, djbob.
  7. Great, HelioHost and HelioNet are back! I am really relieved to see your pages up again. The good news mentioned by djbob in the first post sound pretty cool! By the way, I'd like to mention that although Stevie is (or was) experiencing heavy load, my website had a quick behaviour. Thanks a lot, djbob, and good luck fixing the DDoS attack. electromoth
  8. Well, I did some steps of the registration process. It looks nearly exactly like GoDaddy.com, right? I guess GoDaddy aborted my registration because I want someone else having paid for this domain via PayPal. But if tucktail.com looks nearly the same, it could be that they have similar payment restrictions. Anyway, I'll try it. Thanks, mate. :]
  9. @ loginnet This is exactly the problem I had couple weeks ago. While files could be downloaded and HTML could be displayed, any PHP failed. It lastet about a month and has gone without anyone having anything done. You just might have to wait. Sorry for the bad news. :/
  10. I have tried GoDaddy.com. Unfortunately, there was a weird issue when I tried to pay via PayPal - they refused the transaction due to a risk. Don't know what they mean, I tried it several times. Then I had a closer look onto inwx.de but I've never heard something about them and I'm not sure whether they are serious. Does anybody have some more suggestions concerning good domain hosting?
  11. Thank you, I will have a closer look to it. I'll have to decide between the much clearer, but smaller German site inwx.de and GoDaddy...
  12. Hey there, does anyone of you have some good experience with domain hosting? If I do some search on the web, I get tons of offers, but I want to ensure some requirements: 1. Low costs (as you might guess) 2. Full DNS control (there are really domain hosts that do not offer full DNS control) 3. Pay with PayPal I want to register a .net top level domain and I'm from Germany. I really appreciate some hints and reviews.
  13. Unless you didn't have said something about registered users (or members), I guess you need a script using cookies. In this case, the playlist is stored in the browser the listener uses. You have to decide whether the server or the browser is responsible for storing the playlist. A PHP script could solve this task on your server, alternatively a JavaScript does the same using the browser. I just had a look onto your website. I don't see something like a music player yet. If you intend to use a simple flash player which dynamically generates and changes its playlist, you should look for a suitable JavaScript. Ask Google.
  14. He might mixed it up with the restrictions for getting a domain by djbob.
  15. This means after this scheduled downtime, we won't have to expect further downtime issues? Congratulations.

    Downtime

Though it is not very elegent, an alternative to an e-mail list is to make up a small website, as enginarc says, upon another free webhost - let's say x10hosting.
  17. Wow. This is weird because this problem lasted for about a week. Anyway, I'd like to thank you for your great service. ;-)
  18. Wow, thank you so much! It works again! My website is shown properly again. :] What did you do to make it work?
  19. Hi guys, I continued this thread because of having thought I had the same problem like the one who started this thread. Now I am convinced that I am in need of help from an administrator: When I try to visit a PHP page on my homepage, I get the error 500. I want to point out that only PHP documents are affected. Visit my website and you can see a properly displayed HTML site. But try a PHP site and you get this error 500. That's why I think that Apache's PHP unit is responsible for that strange behaviour (for further information read the mentioned thread). byron sent me here to get help from an admin., so here are my user details: My domain: electromoth.co.cc My username: technick Thank you a lot in advance!
  20. First, I want to say that the introducing question of this topic seems a bit strange to me. You are asking for content for your website? Well, depending on your skills and on what you want to invest into your website, I propose Joomla as a handy and easy-to-use content management system. There are a lot of additional plugins which can be integrated in your Joomla to widen the competences of your website. I personally do not use it because I am one of those who want to be sure what is behind the scenes - with other words: I am coding my website by myself. In case of strange behaviour, you know where to search the source of the fault, and you can look proudly onto your page, knowing that everything you see was written independendly. This makes your website unique. Good luck, electromoth
  21. I'm from Germany, Europe. It's been such a great day when I found HelioHost and HelioNet. :] Well, nothing to do? I would really appreciate some help on this problem.
  22. I did some experiments. Now I am sure that my problem is caused by the Apache's PHP unit: HTML files work properly. To make sure it wasn't my fault (e.g. because of a bad PHP script), I uploaded a simple PHP script echoing some text - and I got the error 500 message. Then, I uploaded a HTML document, appended the .php-suffix, and I got the error again. There must be a basic problem with the PHP unit. I would appreciate help by an admin.
  23. Wow. I hadn't estimated that so many people prefer GoogleMail. Though it is very functional, I'd get worried about the way Google treats your data. I don't like there privacy policy so I'm using GMX. That's an email provider mainly operating in Germany and Austria. It is not very good due to advertising but it seems to be fine with privacy.
  24. There's a serious problem with this poll: You cannot choose multiple systems. :/ Ubuntu is great, but Windows is due to available applications necessary.
