  1. Hello, Can I not have a directory in my home directory which is the document root of a hosted domain ? Say, if i have foo.com, why should foo.com be inside /public_html/foo.com/ ? if I make /HOMEDIR/foo.com and point that domain's document root in the cpanel as /HOMEDIR/foo.com wont that work ? The issue was that, my domain was being accessed as http://myaccount.heliohost.org/foo.com/ which would cause application errors as the root for my application has changed... adding this to the .htaccess in the /public_html/foo.com Redirect /foo.com http://www.foo.com I find that, anybody who accesses http://myaccount.heliohost.org/foo.com/ is automatically redirected to http://foo.com/ This solves a lot of issues. thanks Arvind
  2. Hello, Yes, i thought of the .htaccess file.. but then, that will always push you to one domain. What if you were to delete a domain and recreate the domain ? then can we change the document root ? or will that entail more work for heliohost admins ? I dont want to do such anything to make extra work for the admins. they are already doing a great great job, by providing us with this superb hosting. I am looking into blocking traffic with some URL rewriting in .htaccess :-). great idea. Arvind
  3. Hello, currently my addon domain is pointing to 'public_html/addon.domain/' I want to move it out of public_html and put it in a directory which is a peer to public_html. How can i do this ? The reason being ... people can access my addon domain with this url. http://defaultdomain.heliohost.org/addon.domain/ I want to prevent this, as it looks odd. its reveals the directory structure of my hosting and it can cause issues to applications hosted on the domain, as, it might break the application because, the home directory is no longer 'http://addon.domain/application' but 'http://defaultdomain.heliohost.org/addon.domain/application'. Can anybody please throw some light on this ? Arvind p.s. is the wwwroot a link to the public_html directory ?
  4. Thanks a ton my friends. As soon, as i saw that, user@heliohost.org does not exist.. i understood, that i needed to make a default account for my heliohost default domain. the mail box user(your account name) is not same as an email account with the default domain. so, now I am able to catch all my forwarded emails from the other domain to my default domain :-). thanks a ton once again. heliohost rocks!!!! Arvind
  5. Well not exactly like that. I want to add email accounts to only my primary domain arvind.heliohost.org. So, if I am hosting 3 or 4 domains....then all emails sent to those domains would be sent to the respective accounts on the heliohost.org domain. In this way, I only create mailboxes in heliohost.org and sit back. Think of it this way. suppose i have hosted X.co.cc , Y.co.cc, Z.co.cc and someone sends an email, to arvind@X.co.cc or arvind@Y.co.cc or arvind@Z.co.cc all of it should fall into the mailbox of 'arvind' @heliohost.org. So, If i add another account , say 'support' @heliohost.org. then any email which is addressed to 'support' to any of those domains, will automatically arrive into the support mailbox of heliohost.org. Saves me time to add accounts to all those domains and make my admin job easier. And also the mail checking and handling is easier, as I have to only check one email box. Any ideas ? thanks Arvind
  6. Hello, 1. I went to the 'Forwarders' under the Mail section. 2. Clicked on 'Add Domain forwarder'. 3. From the drop down menu, i choose X.co.cc. 4. typed in arvind.heliohost.org in the right side box and added this entry. 5. Went back to the 'Email Accounts' from the control panel. Here I see only only one account, under 'Default Email account'. The 'Account @ domai' grid is empty as i dont have any accounts for X.co.cc added. So, now as per the documentation, all mails coming to X.co.cc, should be pushed to the default account, in the default domain (arvind.heliohost.org). Please do advice, if I missed anything ? Do I need to add any mx entry for the default domain to accept email for another domain ? Or does the MTA need an entry for a virtual domain ? thanks Arvind
  7. Hello, I am trying to forward all the incoming email to one domain to another. I read the man pages, and found out that, the best way to ensure, that a copy of the email is not retained is, not to have an account in the domain which will autoforward to another domain. Currently, i have set the forwarding for all emails coming to my X.co.cc domain to my X.heliohost.org. But the email is constantly bouncing and i get a mailer daemon failure saying, that, 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'No Such User Here' Can anybody please help me ? thanks Arvind
